The last Iced Earth album I really liked was Horror Show (yeah, I know, most hate that one). So this is definitely a listen first, buy later album for me.

As for the new album, now that I've heard what Stu can do thanks to that "Dante's Inferno" freebie the band released, I'm more interested in it. Like DallasBlack, I'm also a "three strikes" kinda guy and though I didn't care for the last two albums much, I'm willing to give I.E. a shot one more time and see if they score a "hit."

Count me as one who likes Horror Show as well. I'm interested in hearing what Stu can do on a full album. I listened to the re-record of "Dante's Inferno" today and I must say, he seems to be a good fit. I think his voice is similar in many ways to Barlow's, but he can do a more guttural "growl" when the song calls for it. I give this one a listen too.
Stu has a great voice. These clips sound very promising to me and Im only a casual IE fan.

Not gonna lie, I'm a big Matt Barlow fan, so anybody filling his shoes is gonna have to be good. That said, I'm pretty excited about this - Stu has a great voice, and those high-pitched spots sound A LOT like David Wayne! The guy has chops, for sure. I'll have to add this to my list most definitely!

Same here! That wasn't my introduction to Iced Earth, but it was the album that got me into them. It's remained my favorite since.
That being said, I've heard a clip of a song from the new album somewhere recently but I can't find where. The new singer sounds amazing. The style is much the same as you would expect from Iced Earth, but Stu has a harsher tone than Barlow. It's not some kind of brutal-core kind of harsh. You'll know what I mean when you hear it.
