How huge is your music collection?

I refuse to do a count. It would only remind me how little time I get to listen to it all. I always try to convince myself that I need more listening and less buying. Never works out that way though. At some point I came to the truth that I'm a collector. I tried to avoid/deny that fact for years by claiming I was just a big music fan. I am a big music fan. But I also love the chase for that next want.

I have no idea! I would imagine in the 5000 to 6000 range in CDs, and perhaps a few hundred vinyls. I've slowly been selling off and trading all my tapes, so I only have around 30 or less left.

I'm assuming that number includes cd's you have but haven't been reviewed or posted on your site. Any idea of how many actual album & reviews you have on NoLifeTilMetal?

I lost track of my rateyourmusic account (it will be a b*tch to catch up with it), but I probably have around 1200 CDs. I've sold off quite a few of them but still have the music in my computer library.

BTW Jstate, I'm with you in the collector aspect. So many of my CDs will only get 1 spin once in a blue moon because I collect them faster than I listen to them.

Well, I have had quite a bit of stuff stolen, like my Def Leppard Japanese picture
CD, bought it around 1988, for like 40 bucks. My sister-in law stole it for drug money.
I have had about 50 cds stolen, 100 dvds stolen, which left me with around 1,000 CDs, 500 dvds, 200 cassettes, and I have my AC/DC and Def Leppard vinyl, which totals around 50-75. I noticed the First Strike record by Def Leppard I have has really gone up in price...wow.

Probably a couple of thousand, even more impressive when you realize most is obscure Christian Metal. I sold a couple thousand back in th mid to late 90's to pay off some old debts.

With my Metal reaching nearly or passed a thousand, I have many more in the various genres of Music. Rock, Classic rock, Pop, and Classical music. Yes, I listen to symphonies, Concertos, Strings, Violins, Cello and on the odd time a few Operas. I do believe I've accumulated up to 3 thousand. Looking at the many CD Binders I have.

I've got only around 200 CDs.

700-800 CDs

125 cassettes

maybe 50-60 vinyl

I once caught a music colection this big................

I think around 700cds, around 30 something cassetes, around 70 LPS, around 40 shirts, a few posters, one signed by steve row, and one LP signed by heaven and hell

I suspect I have between 300 and 400 cds. Not too many.

Topped out at around 16000 cds a couple of years ago, before the big sell-off began. Probably still have in the 7000-8000 range [always taking requests and inquiries!]. And around 125 vinyl/cassettes. Currently have 186,252 songs in my itunes, which is where 95% of my listening comes from now days.

my wife would kill me several times over if I had 16,000 cds.
