How huge is your music collection?

About 4000 CDs!

From Elvis to Blues to Prog to Metal to Reggae...

My metal section has reached 950 cds.

My entire collection (blues, jazz, classical, pop....) should be over 3000 cds.

1185 records

a few hundred cd's.

I lost count a long time ago, but I'd guess I have around 5000 CDs and a handful of records and tapes.

Rate your music says 2,941 for me. The only thing is I have some bands like Genesis, Blur, Gamma Ray, Sentenced etc. that have box sets of their discographys so I would have to add that to this number but I'm not in the mood to go count haha.

My RateYourMusic page says 332 CDs which is just albums and possibly some boxsets but no singles. Still tiny in comparison the majority here, but it's gradually getting bigger

My collection is tiny compared to some of you guys, but it's obviously all high quality .

About 180 CD's, 300 ish LP's and about 250 12" and 7" singles.

I wonder if anyone ever mentioned that in their forum. I'll have to take a look and if not I'll start one haha

Man, I feel inadequate.
Although I do listen to a majority of music on Spotify now. It's more convenient for me at the moment, but I still prefer physical mediums.

I have:
105 CD's
5 CD-R's
4 Digital Albums
& 2 Cassettes

RYM says 641 for me, but I've also owned/heard at least 200+ in addition..

I lost count, but last time it was about 1200 but my collection has grown quite a bit. Wouldn't be suprised if I was at, close to, or just over 1500 CDs. I need to save more and spend less so it will probably slow down from here on out.

I haven't updated my list in a while because I can't figure out what to do with albums I buy on download. I started my list for insurance purposes and I don't know if my policy covers replacing downloaded albums or not so I haven't added any of those to my list. This has led to me not updating my list at all, even with acquired CDs.

Last time I checked I had around 3500 CDs and 700 vinyls.

EDIT: and my count is by title not actual individual CDs so box sets count as 1 in my entries.
Also add about 1000 DVDs to the list.

It has been too long since my last count, definately in the 5 digits for physical releases though (I don't count cdr's or digital however).

I do know that I have over 200 cd's on my trade list...

Since my last reply here, in February, my cd collection has grown to 711.

In February I had 630 - so that means I have since bought about 81 albums (approx. average of 11 albums per month).

If I had never sold off my CD collection, I'd have a good 1500 or so.

As it stands, I have like 80. Which I've accquired over the past year or two. And a few LPs.

My iTunes library though, which houses copies of a large majority of the CD collection I sold tells a different story.

Same here. I have a few box sets, but I only count them as 1 entry. And double-albums (like the Beatles 'White Album' for example) only count as 1.

Same here. I have a few box sets, but I only count them as 1 entry. And double-albums (like the Beatles 'White Album' for example) only count as 1.

That is the way Rate Your Music does it and I agree with them, a double album is still one album
