How huge is your music collection?

The database software I used would count a box set as 1 item, but it would also keep track of the individual discs so I could have an accurate count. The software also kept track of how long each song and disc was so it was easy to figure out how many hours it would take to go through the collection or "how many hours of Black Sabbath do I have". Etc.

My list currently show 8,675. Mostly CDs, of course. And I don't count individual CDs in multi-disc albums or box sets. So a 10-CD box set is just a single entry. I'm not that anal. Haha.

No judging from me. If it weren't for people like you, I couldn't get most of the quality used CDs I get my hands on. One of my greatest thrills in life is hunting through the used CD stores and finding a CD from high on my wantlist. Yeah, I have to go through a lot of crap to find those rare finds but because of people with good taste selling their collections I am able to do so.

Nothing like as much as I used to have but unfortunately music collections have tendency to shrink when you have an extreme over fondness for booze & recreational drugs. (Thankfully in my past, or at least for now)

I'd say about 400 vinyl, 600 CD's and a ton of digital (can you measure digital music by the ton? probably not!) but growing, fast!

Closing in on 3600 and that doesn't include CDRs or downloads. Plus about 700 vinyl and about 1000 DVDs.

I wager to think my CD collection is now up to at least 1500. This based on the fact that I had about 1200-1300 CDs a year ago and got over 300 CDs last year and sold none. I have several additional albums in digital form from albums I've sold off, plus some more that I never had as CDs (not illegally downloaded per say, but sent to me from fellow HoM members). My actual albums physical and digital is over 2300 according to my rateyourmusic account.

I have a little over 140 physical albums, and about 50 digital (the majority legal, some not) albums.

The bulk of my listening in the past year or so has been on Spotify.

As of today:

CDs - 2436
LPs - 157
MDs - 1

2594 Total

By the way, MD = minidisc. I have one pre-recorded minidisc - Aerosmith's Greatest Hits

I think they were like cds, but smaller. Kinda of like a VHS tape to the smaller BetaMax. I'm probably wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time.
