Good voice but he still sucks because he's on American Idol.

Awesome almost Zeppelin like version of Ring of Fire. One thing Adam does is put his spin on every song ever week. He is a special singer and his pipes really blow away the others IMO.
I have to give my respects to Adam as well. Although he made it an almost middle eastern sounding version he wasn't afraid to do what he wanted.
I watched his performance on the American Idol website since you are always praising this kid, a very different interesting version of "Ring of Fire' , and for once I can see why you like this him, it was so different that I actually liked it. Nothing Led Zeppelin about the performance but the kid did his own take on a song, which for American Idol show I am sure is a first.
That performance on American Idol last night WAS something else! I'm surprised that Randy Travis actually liked it too.
Yea, Randy was like "O What is this?" I'm sure Randy didn't want Adam to do the arrangement but he isn't there to criticize them hes there to help them.
Manny I didn't mean Adam's vocals were Zeppelin like, I ment the band and the music had a somewhat Zeppelin like sound going there. If thats what you ment?
After his performance, Paula commented on how it sounded a bit like Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. That could be what he's picking up.

The arrangement was by Dilana if I'm not mistaken. It did remind me of Zeppelin though musically. Before Paula even said her comments, I looked over at a buddy and said "Man that sounds so Zeppelinish"

I didn't really enjoy his performance this week. I thought he was just milking out his talent of good vibrato. He will still get my vote (I don't vote) though!

Evy I was blown away by it. It was so mellow and for being 2 mins really left me wanting to hear it over and over again. His acoustic take for me and the way he sung the lyrics and gave it an almost different melody made the song better then the original, which wasn't a bad song in the first place.

i was waiting for a comment like this. The kid has an amazing voice and his arrangements could all be radio hits right now. I stick by artists and musicicans I like regardless what others think. Look at the songs he did. All his arrangements were better then the original in my opinion. He made me like the song Satisfaction fron The Stones. His version of Black n White was killer heavy. His take on Ring of Fire blew away Cash's, and now he did Tracks of my Tears which is a song I could listen to forever. So yea I think Adam is awesome. We already know this.

My wife's addicted to it... and since I'm generally too lazy to go upstairs and watch something else on the bedroom TV, I end up seeing bits and pieces of it through osmosis while doing other stuff.

I have never watched a single episode...and I never will.
I usually catch glimpses, but this season Adam is there and he really shouldn't be. The kid is pure genius IMO. Amazing vocals and really knows what to do with the songs he chooses.

Pure genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are kidding right? Genius and American Idol do not belong in the same sentence!!!!! For crying out loud Mozart is a genius, Adam is a glorified karaoke contestant on a show aimed at thirteen year old virgins who are still awaiting for their balls to drop.

Line Adam up against some of the greatest rock vocalist of any ERA and well he would outshine many of them IMO. Again I shouldn't have to repeat, Adam isn't an ordinary AI contestant. It seems most people let there feeling toward a show, manipulate the bigger picture. AI is giving talented people a shot at something they have dreamed of doing. Who would past that oppurtunity by?

yea well unfortunately that would be me as well if I tried out.
I just think the people on the show get a bad rep because well they're on a very successful talent show that makes people stars. Again, we would all jump at that oppurtunity if we possessed talent, and couldn't be found other ways. Sometimes hard work doesn't always pay off and AI is a great way to be heard.

I would stack Adam against many rock legends of any ERA and Adam would fail.

No grit at all in his voice. Sounds girly... I wonder if he does drag queen show tunes?

I can't stand this show and think it's all that's wrong with the music industry right now. We don't want charismatic singer, good songwriters, or artists, we want pop clones. If some of the best singers of all time were to be on that show they probably wouldn't make it through the tryouts.

I agree that most of our rock legend/vocalists wouldn't make it, but they don't have to. They made it because they possess a gift and were heard.
