Yeah, there's a couple songs on that album that I really like. He does have a great voice and I'm glad that he didn't win. I think if he had won, he wouldn't have been able to put out as decent a record.

In his defense, does he actually look like he was born to be wild?

His vocals in that song were amazing and that heavy section after he sang "BORN TO BE WILD" was tight. He didn't stink the background vocalists did. They ruined it.

Adams version of Whole Lotta Love pretty much was spot on to Zeps version.

Adam Lambert is really starting to annoy me.
The dude can sing but he's being given "diva" treatment which I think slants the voters. I hoped the week he finished in the bottom third would be a wakeup call but sadly that appears to not be the case.
Not that it's his fault; it's the damn judges who practically cream themselves over everything the guy does. Just annoys me; I always pull for underdogs.

Meh. It sounds alright, but I think he's trying too hard to sound like Robert Plant.

I cant pull for the underdogs here he is that much better then they are and he is a rocker at heart. Adam is up there with his talent and vocals to some of the best.

I think Schlub nailed what bothers me with Lambert.
He tries too hard all the time. Nothing he does seems natural to me; he sounds like he's always trying to emulate someone. He just comes across as "contrived" to me.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's the best singer in the competition and should win going away. But there's something about the guy's voice that irks me and I think it's that he's a chameleon.
Of all the vocalists I know, only Freddie Mercury could get away with doing vocals that varied from heavy metal to show tunes. I don't think this guy is in Freddie's stratosphere so trying to be that malleable with his vocals gets under my skin.

Now that Paul Rodgers and Queen are no longer working together, maybe the Queen guys are holding that spot open for Adam Lambert.

I heard that's the reason Slash appeared on American Idol, looking for a new singer for Velvet Revolver. And by "heard", I mean "just made up".

The problem with American Idol is that the contestants are performing other people's music which gives no clue to what their natural talent sounds like. I say let them try to write their own music and go from there, not this karaoke crap.

I am proud to saw I have never watched American Idol!!!!!
The one thing I liked about Rock Star is that they let the top constants perform their own songs later on in the competition. Too bad it's off the air.
