Pirates vs Cardinals. Ugh. Man the Cards are a tough team to beat.

And we're without our hottest hitter for this series. Matt Carpenter is back in STL with "extreme exhaustion". He's hitting well over .300 with 5 HR and 20 RBI. Cards better win tonight because tomorrow is Wainwright's spot in the rotation which means we'll be throwing some minor league guy (probably Tyler Lyons).

I noticed how many .300 and above hitters there are for the Cards. I don't think the Pirates have one. My brother and nephews are in town and going to tonights game. Hope the Bucs get the win for them !

Good for you! Enjoy the game. Don't drink too much IC Lite. In fact, don't drink any IC Lite.

I'm contemplating the idea of creating a "What Sporting Event I Watched Today" thread to parse out the baseball game stuff from the movies and TV shows.
Thoughts?

I don't know. There's only about 3 or 4 of us that watch baseball.

I sort of like the idea.
There are a bunch of us that watch baseball, football and hockey; not to mention boxing. And I admit I feel kind of lame clogging up this thread with sports stuff when other people come here looking for posts about TV and movies.

Oh I misread that. With a thread based on all sports, that would work.

Works for me!
I just hope no one gets anal about it if someone posts "I watched WWE Raw" or "I watched E:60" in this thread instead of the new one.

Also watched another 30 minutes of "Sushi Girl" while I was on the elliptical today.
Very Tarentino-esque so far. The torture scenes are bad but I've seen far worse and Tony Todd is great at projecting a sense of quiet, menacing evil.
This movie has cameos by Jeff Fahey, Michael Biehn and Danny Trejo (complete with a machete). It's as much an homage to grindhouse cinema as anything Tarentino has done.

What We Do In The Shadows (2014)
This "mockumentary" from New Zealand is one of the funniest movies I've seen in quite awhile. A documentary crew turns their cameras on a group of vampire roommates and that's really all the setup that is required for this. Wonderfully silly and skewers pretty much every vampire cliche in the history of cinema in the process. The dialogue and comedic timing is great throughout.
My favorite line when they are asked why vampires prefer virgin blood:
"I think of it like this: if you're going to eat a sandwich, you would just enjoy it more if you knew no one had f**ked it."

That sounds like something I'd really like. I need to check it out.

Same here.
Initially I didn't really like either of these shows but they've both grown on me. Especially Bob's Burgers. I always kind of liked Family Guy just because of Stewie and Brian but I hated BB. Now I find the dry (and often dark) humor in BB very amusing.
