- "Machete Maidens Unleashed" -- hilarious documentary about the Filipino exploitation movie industry of the 70s, when U.S. filmmakers like Roger Corman and other schlockmeisters discovered that the islands' natural beauty (and low costs) made it the perfect place to crank out dozens of sleazy, t&a filled horror, action, kung fu and women-in-prison flicks. Tons of clips of boobs, decapitations, and stuff blowing up accompanies interviews with B movie royalty like John Landis, Dick Miller, Sid Haig and Corman himself. After watching this doc I added about a dozen titles I'd never heard of before to my "I gotta see that!" list.

| "The Prophecy" (1995) Christopher Walken's darkly funny performance as Gabriel, the angel of Death, is the highlight of this lukewarm religious thriller about a war between rival factions of Angels that ends in a small Arizona town, with a former priest turned cop caught in the middle. Apparently there are four sequels to this flick; I think I'll pass on those. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Vanderbilt vs Houston in the BBVA Compass Bowl (yeah, I know, but I'm a Vandy fan from my days living near Nashville)
Now I'm watching the Chiefs dominate Indy. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| The NFL is just so unpredictable. Chiefs had a 38-10 lead early in the second half and now they're down 45-44 with a 4th and 11.
This is the Colts team my Rams smoked 38-8 several week ago. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Same here. That was chokage by the Chiefs but they did sustain an unbelievable amount of injuries to key players throughout the game. Still, if you're up on the Colts 38-10 in the second half (and considering my 7-9 Rams smoked Indy) you should win the game. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| C'mon you Iggles!
I'm rooting against any team in the playoffs that my 7-9 Rams beat badly. And of course, I'm rooting for anyone against Seattle or SF. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Another typical "campers get slaughtered" flick if I remember correctly except somehow this one creeped me out more than Friday The 13th. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Along with Alexander there was Holly Hunter and Fisher Stevens plus pretty good gore effects courtesy of Tom Savini. | |
