| Watched the Ray Harryhausen documentary recommended by Freddy. Good stuff and very entertaining.
Then watched the Boys From Brazil (1978) - a good movie based on a novel about Josef Mengele plotting to clone Adolph Hitler. Fine acting by a top shelf cast (Gregory Peck, Sir Laurence Olivier, James Mason ,etc)
Finished up with Sasquatch (aka The Untold) - pretty crappy Bigfoot movie starring Lance Henriksen (the only actor in the cast worth mentioning). The only other noteworthy thing from the movie was the monster design/costume. It looked pretty good.

| The Ghost and Mr. Chicken is a stone classic. I fondly remember seeing it at my Grandmother's house when I was a little kid, the local station played it a couple times a year. I bought it on DVD several years ago, was happy to find out it was just as entertaining as I remember. |

| Don Knott's finest hour. I have it on vhs. It's been at least 20 years; time to dust it off. | |

| Love the Ghost and Mr. Chicken. I actually saw it for the first time in the theater when I was a kid. My home town used to show a "scary" movie before trick or treating and that was the one shown one year.

"Attaboy, Luther !" Genius running gag. Don Knotts does give a master class in physical comedy in that film. |

| That movie is so quotable.
"They used Bon Ami!" "CALM and MURDER?? MURDER??" "BANG. Right on the head." "B-double-oh-B, boob!"
Like I said, it's been 20 years since I've seen it. I still remember these.

I've been waiting for this final season pt. 2 to start. I had forgotten nearly everything from Part 1 of the season and I had to read the episode recaps on Wikipedia.

| Hansel and Gretel - Witch Hunters
This is the 4th time I'm watching this since I got it last fall. I know the critics hated it but I love it. I think it's funny, gory and has some nice FX (yeah, some of them are too CGI but others are great). And iit has some interesting ideas floating around. Like the fact that Hansel has to keep taking insulin shots because he's diabetic thanks to the first witch he met as a child. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Gemma Arterton is quite the beauty, but not even her involvement allowed me to make it all the way through Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. I think I lasted about 45 minutes. I think I agree with the critics who awarded it a whopping 15% out of 100%. But, good news for those that did enjoy it, they are planning on making a sequel. The film bombed in the US, but it made enough money in non-English speaking countries to warrant a second volume. |

| Well the unrated version adds quite a bit to it but you probably still wouldn't like it. I just think it's good "turn off your brain and enjoy" escapist fare. Don't try to rationalize all the anachronisms.
What's funny about the critical reviews is the film fares much better on horror movie review sites than it does on general movie review sites. I just think horror movie fans are generally a more forgiving audience; we just want to be entertained. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
