| Twilight Zone: Season 1, Episodes 3 and 4
Episode 3 is a pretty good one set in the old West. A former gunslinger turned town drunk finds a "magic" gun left by peddler "Mr. Fate". Then Mr. Fate gives him an "elixir" that guarantees he'll be the fastest draw for 10 seconds. But Mr. Fate has a lot of customers...
Episode 4 is the first dud of the series IMO. It's boring. Former leading lady in 30s filmdom is trying to stay in the past by locking herself in a room and watching her old films. By the sheer strength of "wishing" she becomes part of the celluloid. Dumb. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Waiting for Smackdown to start because the Cardinals' game doesn't start for another 2 hours so I tuned in SyFy early. Caught the last 30 minutes of "Arachnoquake".
WTF???? Man these SyFy movies require a lot of ignorance. The part I saw featured the protagonists trying to kill the spider "queen" in hopes of incapacitating the rest. Wait a minute, when did spiders become colonial like bees, ants or termites? Do they even try to explain this new "spider hierarchy" anywhere earlier in the movie? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

It's just my opinion. I feel compared to the first 3 episodes of the series it seems dragged out and dull. And there's really no "twist" unlike most TZ episodes. But like I said, I'm just giving my opinions as I embark on viewing the entire series in order. My goal is to be through all of them by Christmas. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I caught a few minutes of "Arachnoquake" too....I was more intrigued by the fact that these prehistoric mutant spiders somehow had the ability to breathe fire. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I must've missed that part. I just got really annoyed when everyone kept saying "We've got to kill the queen!". Spiders don't have queens you morons. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| "C.H.O.MP.S." (1979) Late 70s kid stuff about a young inventor whose lifelike, superpowered robotic dog has the potential to revolutionize the home security business. Naturally this means lots of bumbling crooks want to steal it. Think "The Six Million Dollar Pooch." I watched this movie a ton of times when I was a kid (mainly because I had a mad schoolboy crush on Valerie Bertinelli, who plays the boy genius' girlfriend, at the time) so when it turned up on Netflix I thought my kids would get a kick out of it...and they did _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

This was such a frequent rental when I was a kid. I remember the exact spot of the tape at our local Family Fun Video. They also had a play area. K I'm getting nostalgic now...

| "Short Circuit 2" (1986) Jive talkin' sentient robot "Johnny 5" moves to to the big city where he helps catch a gang of diamond thieves and helps his Indian buddy romance a hot toy store babe. Silly, family friendly action/comedy. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| "Explorers"(1985) A junior high dreamer, his science wiz pal, and their tough friend build a homemade spaceship and use it to meet with couch-potato aliens in this family friendly sci-fi fantasy from Joe "Gremlins" Dante. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Loved that movie when I was a kid. Have it on DVD somewhere, but like many of my childhood favorites (Cloak And Dagger being another one), I've been reluctant to watch them for fear of them not being as good as I remember them.

| ^^ I hadn't seen "Explorers" in dog years. It was OK but I had more fun watching my kids enjoy it, they got a kick out of it.
Tonite after the kids went to bed: "Insidious: Chapter 2" (2013) - those pesky spirits aren't quite finished with the Lambert family, who suffer thru more supernatural goings-on. Cool, spooky stuff with several decent jumps and jolts. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Same here. Miller just flat lost it. Once LA got 3 runs it was all over with Kershaw pitching. All the runs after that were just gravy for LA. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Bloody Birthday (1981) - saw this movie mentioned on a website listing 30 forgotten horror movies that should be seen. I saw it was available for streaming on netflix so gave it a watch last night. Fairly decent movie above 3 murderous 10 year olds who were born during a solar eclipse, blocking Saturn (I think) and causing them to be that way. Strange reasoning, but whatever.
Followed that up with the Initiation (1984) - a run of the mill slasher film starring Daphne Zuniga in an early role.
