I ordered the deluxe edition of Redeemer of Souls. Also preordered the new Uriah Heep that's out next month. I thought both of Heep's last two records have been amazing.

Ok, Crossfire sounds AMAZING! My skepticism about the album is nixed.
Seriously, tones of the first three albums are all over that intro. I'm so on board I'm already pulling up anchor.

Crossfire is how I hoped JP sounded on all their albums. When they're playing that mid paced groove rock and roll (not metal) I really enjoy them. Songs like Bloodstone and Pain and Pleasure come to mind right away.

Crossfire does sound good but I don't think I'd want the whole album sounding like that. Gotta have some change ups on it.

I couldn't believe when Queensryke - went concept - I H A T E concept - But Nostradamus - if it was all one CD - it would of been great - then just release the other recorded material later on - for die hards to enjoy - Guns and Roses I H A T E D that double lp - when it could of been one lp - KISS had great live double lps - and bonus stuff - tattoos - stickers- photos etc - I bought a RODS cd - had bonus tracks - sounded like horrible garage recording songs - Halford - the song "DEATH" on Nostradamus -had some great singing - I couldn't believe it - and he has got to be, continually, one of the top lyricist in the genre - front row - during their final tour - shame KK dropped the gig -

Agree - I really like that Crossfire sample, reminds me of early Priest. From the samples thus far, sounds like there is a mix of tracks on the album.

Crossfire has the perfect example of structure of a metal song I hate with passion. Can't stand this rhythm. Besides, the intro sounds like I from Dehumanizer.

That sample of Crossfire sounds excellent, I love their earlier albums, nice to hear them explore that sound again.

Good news - the release date of the new album has actually been pushed UP to July 8th from July 15th!
"The anxiously-awaited new studio album from Judas Priest, Redeemer Of Souls, has been bumped ahead and will be released via Epic Records/Sony Music on July 8th in North America. The album will be sold as a two-disc set in Japan on the superior-sounding Blu-Spec CD 2 format on July 23rd."

What the hell is Blu-Spec?
I mean, I'm a music guy. I'm also a tech guy, but DVD-A, HDCD, SACD... How many frickin' specs are they going to give us before we have our VHS/BETA battle that ends in some standard reigning supreme, forming Voltron and showing us the way forward?

“This album has got vikings, dragons, aliens, a bit of bible thumping and some guns,” he tells us in an exclusive video interview. “That’s what you need in a metal record. It’s strong and it’s intense, but there’s a lot of fun and exploration, through at least that side, with the lyrical content.”
