The guys were great lyricists. To be a good songwriter you have to be able to make the song memorable and tell some type of story. Its not about the words really its about how the words are sang with the music to make it great. Its called melody and they didnt have it IMO.

You can tell a story but at least add some melody. Dylan was the same way. They wrote great lyrics but there is no melody and thats the most important aspect of songwriting.

Of course I know what melody is and of course they have songs with great melodies. They just have so many songs that do nothing for me.

Ok... for a second i thought you were claiming they didn't write any melodies (which is what they're known for).

It just boils down to you not liking them...

I'm not the biggest Beatles fan but i give them the credit they're due.

I can respect a bands place in history but if the music sucks it sucks and thats the bottom line because I said so..

Pretty much.. Plain rock n roll has always been a turn off to me. I need dynamics and fire. Grab me by the throat and pull me in type of bands. These bands are just way to simple for me. Thats the best way i can put it.

I agree some of the founding bands are lame (Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, etc).

But I love many of them.

All these ppl are great and I never take them serious and as far as my music Trouble. Thats just me and my guitar writing about love life. Its supposed to be slow and simple. Its not like a have a lot to work with its me and a guitar. There is a total different side of me when Im jamming around and shredding it up..
