| I don't understand the hate for "Youthanasia."
"Reckoning Day", "Train of Consequences", the title track, "Addicted to Chaos", and "Victory." What's not to like?
Also, I have no problems with the curren lineup, but I wouldn't mind seeing a change at the drummer position.

I was wondering if they were going to do this, since they just got done playing the whole Countdown to Extinction album in Santiago, Chile. I'm wondering also if Dave has decided whether to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "So Far, So Good, So What" in 2013 with a new release, since it desperately needs to be remastered properly. I know it's sandwiched in between two stellar efforst like "Peace Sells" and "Rust", but I still really dig that album.

I hope this is just remastered and not that crap remix/hackjob Dave did. Ugh. Thankfully, I held on to my original cds and didn't sell them for those remixes.

Supposedly only the concert will be remixed. That doesn't bother me, but yes, I concur, don't mess with the original sound like Dave did with those 2004 remasters!

Since they did a 25th anniversary edition for Peace Sells, I'm hoping they do the same thing next year for that album.

| Me likey, this is a must pick-up. It's the first 'Deth album I ever bought. The live show is really enticing too.
Too bad the extras from the 04' remixed/remastered release are not on here though. I wouldn't mind hearing some more demos.

| This is similar to what Priest did with British Steel and Screaming For Vengeance. Both of those albums were remastered and reissued with bonus tracks in the early 00s (was it 2002? i can't remember). More recently Priest repackaged those same albums with added live material for the albums' anniversaries. I don't find much incentive to buy essentially the same album with slightly altered artwork and a bonus live disc. Would be more worthwhile releasing a live box set similar to how Iron Maiden released the limited edition of Eddie's Casket.
That would be something worthwhile for the long time fans. In that regard, I think a mile stone anniversary of an album should be celebrated with live material and not necessarily with reissuing the studio album. Afterall the staying power of an album decades after its release is in a live setting, where people still want to hear the songs on the said album.
It would be more interesting for Megadeth to release some iconic concerts on cd or dvd from that period in the band's history. I think more people would be interested in hearing a slice of Megadeth's live history than just listening to essentially the same studio album they already own.

I completely agree with this, I want the US Festival performance but I am not willing to rebuy the album just to obtain it. I certainly interested in the Megadeth live discs that are part of the bonus discs but do not wish to rebuy the album just to get the bonus discs unless it is ultra cheap

Those 2004 albums were re-mixed, and sounded like garbage. This 20th Anniversary edition is not re-mixed...

Those 2004 albums were re-mixed, and sounded like garbage. This 20th Anniversary edition is not re-mixed... If not remixed, does it then sound just like the original? I mean i thought the original of Countdown sounded great, and even for the production values of 1992 it still sounds fresh. The remixed versions are hit and miss for me. I don't see them as replacing the original pressings, they are more like companions to the original pressings. A proper reissue of Megadeth's albums at the time should have included both the original pressing and a remixed version of the album. The way they did it though, imo sucked because they took off the market the original albums.
