Do you know where the name MEGADETH came from?

This is an SNL special from the 70s that features a mock metal band called "Megadeath". One of the guys in the band is Nigel from SPINAL TAP.

Thanks for the info. I just watched the show on Netflix and while it was pretty hard to sit through, it was interesting to see these guys in their early days. This thing could have been called "SNL Legends Before They Were Funny".

I figured they named themselves Megadeth so that they would always be alphabetically in front of Metallica in the record store.......
