I’d love to know what James thinks. Many decades ago - I got kicked out of a band. Female singer…female rhythm guitarist….we went into the studio. Good band. The studio guy was a lead guitarist. He convinced the gals to kick me out - and recruit him. Lol. He was ten years older than me. Looked like Joe Lynn Turner. I wrote most of the songs. They erased my lead guitar work. We were 16 months together. Chicks lol. I saw the band perform live. This time they had a lead guitarist who looked like Brett Michaels. All smiles. After the show, the rhythm guitarist came up to me and said she couldn’t get my riff leads out of her head. It was a huge compliment. I had every lead worked out perfectly. Mustaine erasing the bass lines….what a sissy move. I suppose he’ll take away the money owed too. Etc.

Pretty harsh, but in light with all that has gone on, not too surprising.

Hardly.
Those 2 albums were already released and were stone cold classics.

While we all wait to find out who's re-recording Ellefson's bass tracks for the new Megadeth album (rumor has it that it's Steve DiGiorgio), they are about to release a live "unplugged" disc that was taped in Boston back in 2001.
Quote :
It was one of the most unique and sought-after concert experiences in MEGADETH fandom — an intimate, scaled-down performance featuring Dave Mustaine and company on acoustic guitars stripping down their heavy metal anthems to their primal elements. These special engagements became the stuff of legend over the years and recordings of these performances were made available exclusively through the MEGADETH fanclub. But now, the band has partnered with Los Angeles-based indie label Cleopatra Records to make this experience open to all with the first-ever commercial release of "Unplugged In Boston", a spectacular acoustic concert recorded in 2001.
Coming just on the heels of the band's stylishly aggressive album "The World Needs A Hero", the setlist kicks off with one of that album's best tracks, the turbulent "Dread And The Fugitive Mind", before launching into a string of older favorites including several from the 1997 album "Cryptic Writings" as well as an excerpt from "Holy Wars…The Punishment Due". But Mustaine and gang save the best for last, closing the show with a superb one-two punch of "Moto Psycho", "Hero"'s highest-charting single, and the unforgettable "Symphony Of Destruction", MEGADETH's mainstream breakthrough that still manages to get the audience's blood pumping! All in all, it's an extraordinary concert that MEGADETH fans will not want to miss!
"Unplugged In Boston" will be available on digital as well as digipak CD and vinyl in an array of color options to choose from.
Track listing:
01. Dread And The Fugitive Mind 02. Trust 03. Time: The Beginning 04. Use The Man
05. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due 06. Almost Honest 07. Promises 08. She-Wolf 09. Moto Psycho 10. Symphony Of Destruction

I hope the new album will be at least as good as the last one.

On a more serious note, Deth announced that United Abominations and Endgame era bassist James Lomenzo has rejoined the fold for the upcoming tour.

Do you think LoMenzo will end up being the permanent guy? He seems like a nice obedient employee… but he isn’t really a thrash guy. Too bad Greg Christian has the history of drug abuse. He would be perfect musically. He’s already known for playing cool shit like the intro to Souls of Black.

I think history has shown that Mustaine is the only "permanent guy" in Megadeth.

Yikes. Wrecker. As great as the new song sounds I just listened to quite possibly the worst metal track ever called Wrecker. Its on the 13 record if you don't know. However you probably do.
