My thoughts exactly. Unless it's new, I got enough old 'deth to last me a lifetime.

That's a heck of a line-up. I couldn't wait to get to the buffet while Devil Driver was performing though. Or perhaps a nice sauna.

Devildriver and Danko seem out of place but Armored Saint would be great to see.

So... I haven't bought a Megadeth record since Youthanasia. I walk into a record store, you're the clerk, and I say I need to walk out with a Megadeth CD, a recent one, what platter do I get slapped in my hand?

Either Endgame or Dystopia. Both are excellent.

Semi-related note, I revisited Youthanasia this morning on the ride to work for the first time in quite a few years, and was surprised to find myself thinking "Geez, this album is dull as dishwater." I've had it since it was a new release and I remember liking it just fine when it was current, but this morning I was like "Zzzzzz..." Go figure. (shrugs)

Agreed. System and Th13rteen are good listens as well.

“Warheads on Foreheads”
(a career spanning collection of zits) Â
Joking aside, it looks like a decent compilation overall.
Where is Into the Lungs of Hell? It should’ve been included!

4 tracks from Dystopia and only 1 from Endgame or TSHF? And no "Peace Sells" (the song)?
Come on now.

I hate this new kind of crisp and clean album cover. Takes five second to make it more "metal."
Not that I plan to buy it or anything. I'd grab it real cheap used or something, but otherwise there's no need.

I like the weathered look of yours, Ken. I would love to have that signed and framed in the man cave. This release really is pointless without anything "rare" or un released. If this focused more on the second half of the band's career with demos and live and b sides from that era, I know it wouldn't be as interesting (or profitable) as the glory days, but it would be more enticing to this Mega fan. Just my 2 cents.

Peace Sells is so overplayed it can go to the bottom of the bin until they recognize the existence of the far superior Bad Omen. Sweating Bullets and A Toute Le Monde can go as well. I would get rid of Train of Consequences and Symphony of Destruction too in for songs like, say, Family Tree and Breakpoint.
But yeah, Endgame and The System Has Failed are far better albums than Dystopia. Both albums shine almost from the beginning to the end while Dystopia has two amazing tracks and the rest range from filler to ok. I get that they probably want to "promote" their latest album by including more songs from that but sure this compilation would be better with more songs from Endgame and TSHF.

Cool. The free-streaming channel Tubi also has Megadeth's Rust in Peace Live from 2010 concert on it. I had it on the other day while I was straightening up around the house.

There is a great remaster that came out a few years back. It’s called “The Final Kill”. The sound quality is awesome!

Dude, you have got to remedy that ASAP! It's not as polished as the following albums, but damn, it's a killer album. I have yet to hear the remastered version, because I don't want to hear it remastered. I love my early version and see no reason to remaster it. Either version you chose, you need to listen to one now!!!

That was a huge release - way back when. All the kids into heavy metal were talking about it. “The ex-Metallica guy”. Even the album cover was over the top. Stood out. And so started the quiet rivalry between the two bands. Dave’s voice gave the band a punk rock vibe too.
