Slipknot?

Slipknot are a strangely viewed band in the metal world lots of "true" metal fans hate them and say they suck, but then there are the people (mostly kids) who says Slipknot is the greatest and worship them I wanna know what you guys think

Me? personally I like them I dont worship them but I enjoy their music and have a lot of respect for what they are doing

Your turn what do you think?

Not a fan, but to be honest, I haven't heard a whole lot of their
music. I'm basing my opinion on the handful of songs I have heard over
the years.

I've heard their music and while some songs are ok as a whole they are not my thing to commercial!

Slipknot's major label debut is pretty badass from start to finish. Everything that came after is a bit too self-indulgent and sloppy overall. Each have some good tunes, but overall they're not amazing albums, a bit too chaotic and misguided. Not surprising when you've got a band with 9 members putting their ideas and opinions into the mix.

And too commercial? What does that mean? Just because the band is popular doesn't mean they're like NSync. Their music is about as non-commercial as you can get.

I have a buddy that listens to them and I hear them occasionally on satellite radio. The little I heard of them is, eh, ok, but not really my thing. Pass.

They are okay.....I'd rather listen to them than say NICKELBACK or any of that ick....

But by and far I'd rather not listen to them....

they are not bad. i always respected the fact that, despite their huge popularity, they always tried to sound more extreme.

i have two albums by them, but i don't really listen to them much.

I much prefer Corey in Stone Sour over Slipknot, I disliked there debut when it came out and pretty much feel as though they used the whole costume thing to gain some fans.

I don't mind them but i'm not a fan i would say. I'm also not a big fan of the F Bomb every other word, but o well its there music.

My fav track is People=Poop

I like this song as well as it pretty much sounds like a Stone Sour song

The majority of death metal, they just try to be bands they're not. Spent too much time on the visual.

Slipknot are not a death metal band.

Not saying they are, saying they tried to copy DM, and did it really s hitty. 2nd rate nu-metal. Slipknot is one of the only bands I outright hate.

They're an ok band.

Yeah I Enjoy Stone Sour Alot More Than I Enjoy Slipknot

One Thing I Never Really Understood Was Why People All Ways Say There Such A Mainstream Band I Dont Know About You Guys But When I Hear The Radio Its Still Crap Like Coldplay & Pussycat Dolls. I Have Never Heard Slipknot Or Any So-Called Mainstream Metal Bands On The Radio

I watched both of the videos posted above. Didn't change my opinion at
all. As a matter of fact, it just helped to solidify my dislike.

I don't like the vocals. Stupid lyrics. Guitars sound like downtuned
crap. If the guitars were tuned to a standard E or E flat, you'd hear
that they aren't really playing much of anything, riff-wise. Boring
metalcore breakdowns devoid of guitar solos. Just boring for me.

I don't mind the visuals and hype at all. Their whole mask trip isn't
much different than Kiss or Lordi, both of which I like, so it's not
that. Mainstream or not has no bearing on my opinion either. I don't
care how popular they are or aren't. I like a lot of popular stuff. I
just don't like the music.

But Most Slipknot Fans That I've Met Are Whiny So-Called "hardcore" Kids Who Spaz Out If Anyone "Judges Them"

They're not nu-metal. First rate, second rate, etc...
