| Iced Earth's new album Incorruptible coming sometime in June. No artwork or sound samples yet, but here's the track listing...
01. Great Heathen Army 02. Black Flag 03. Raven Wing 04. The Veil 05. Seven Headed Whore 06. The Relic (Part 1) 07. Ghost Dance (Awaken The Ancestors) 08. Brothers 09. Defiance 10. Clear The Way (December 13th, 1862) _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I.E. was one of my favorite bands for a long time.... so when I think about it, it's actually kinda bizarre how quickly they slid off my radar.
I liked Glorious Burden a lot, but the Something Wicked combo that followed it didn't do much for me at all. Obviously the singer changes didn't help (Matt Barlow's out! Ripper's in! Ripper's out! Matt Barlow is back in! Barlow is back out again!) but even beyond that, it seemed like they got really samey (not to mention pretentious)....
I did pick up Dystopia when it came out and liked it well enough, Stu seems like a good fit, but once the newness wore off that album didn't come off the shelf much.
I never even bothered with the one that came after Dystopia (Plagues of something or other?)....I suppose if I found it used I'd give it a go but I haven't come across one in my travels yet. That'll probably be my response to this new one as well. (shrugs) _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Cool. I'll be getting this at some point. I really liked the last 2 with Stu Block. | |

same here. I thought they recovered nicely with Dystopia and Plagues from the awful Crucible. _________________

| I gave up on this band after the first time Barlow left. Like FF, I used to call them one of my favorite bands. I still spin Dark Saga, Horror Show and especially Something Wicked This Way comes fairly regularly.
So who is on vocals now? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| This band slipped into obscurity very quickly. To think, they used to be one of the biggest bands in metal 15 years ago. | |

So who is on vocals now? they did fall hard. They used to be one of the centerpiece acts. Stu Block is now the singer. He came from Into Eternity, a prog death metal band. He has done a very nice job imho, a mix of Barlow and Ripper. _________________

So who is on vocals now? I'm sorta in the same boat. While I haven't given up on them completely, I think they've been kinda spotty since Barlow left the first time. I thought Stu did a nice job on Dystopia but the followup left me cold. When I ask myself if I really need another Iced Earth album, I'm afraid the answer is "nah". The new album will have to be truly spectacular methinks. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | They are still in my top 10 favourite bands. And I've liked everything they've released, including the Something Wicked Saga and Stu Block albums.
This is a blind purchase for me.

| I love everything they've done up until the last couple. I remember someone asking the question once, who is going to be the next maiden, or priest when those bands hang it up, and my first thought was Iced Earth. It's a shame they kind of fell off the face of the earth. Saw them a couple years ago. They had Sabaton open for them. Really sad when a third of the crowd left after Sabaton was done. I personally can't stand that band, but damn they had the crowd worked into a frenzy. Iced Earth, not so much.
I'll probably pick up the new album though. I haven't given up completely on them yet, but if this album sucks, it will probably be the last one I buy from them.

| I forgot I even have Something Wicked Pt 2. You guys kept talking about it and since I love Pt. 1 so much I figured I must have bought it. I checked my collection and sure enough, there it is. I also must have quickly shelved it since I don't even remember getting it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

That's a good one. I always thought they are a great live band. I've seen them twice (once with Barlow, once with Stu Block), and they got the crowd going great both times. I also have the Festivals of the Wicked DVD which is a nice set that contains both Barlow and Ripper fronted festival shows. Here's my Iced Earth studio album ranking on RYM.

| I thought Dystopia would bring back some of the fans but it seems too many had given up on them. The biggest problem with Something Wicked 2 is how bloated it is. | |
