"Ski School 2" (1994)
Hard partying ski bum Dave Marshak (Dean Cameron) returns to the slopes when he learns that his ex girlfriend is about to marry an obnoxious preppie (who, of course, has an ulterior motive). Wacky hijinks ensue. The original "Ski School" wasn't Shakespeare by any means but this sequel is dumb as a box of rocks. Of course there's lotsa pretty, frequently undressed girls in it and a few decent gags but otherwise you won't miss much if you skip this one.

Salem's Lot (1979)
TV adaptation of the novel by Stephen King starring David Soul. I saw this way back when it aired and it really creeped me out. It held up rather well I think, especially the vampire kids floating outside bedroom windows scratching to be let in and the main vampire, who resembles Count Orlock from the silent movie Nosferatu.

I'm watching Rolling Stones "Four Flicks" during my lunchtime workout. The Stones are still the best concert I've ever seen and while none of the shows on this 4 disc set have all the FX they had when I saw them on the Voodoo Lounge tour at Giants Stadium back in '94, they still put on a great show.
I miss the giant inflatable dragon shooting laser beams from its eyes though. I never expected anything remotely like that at a Stones concert.

"Punk's Not Dead" (2007)
This documentary traces the history of punk rock from its humble 70s beginnings (Ramones, Sex Pistols) through the hardcore '80s (Black Flag, Minor Threat) and finally to its "commercial" breakthrough in the 90s thanks to Green Day, the Offspring, Pennywise, etc. Features interviews and commentary by a who's who of punk royalty including Henry Rollins (of course), Jello Biafra, Billie Joe Armstrong, and members of the UK Subs, the Adicts, the Anti-Nowhere League, L7, Bad Religion, the Circle Jerks and lots more. Loud, chaotic fun.

The Black Cat (1941)
Greedy family of a wealthy old lady gathers for an advance ready of her will. Thinking she's near death, a realtor's brought along to sell her mansion. Needless to say, the old lady ends up dead but a clause in the will states that nobody gets anything until the caretaker and all of her cats die. This movie was standard fare for the time, replete with red herrings, secret passages and odious comic relief. Still, I found it enjoyable.

Earlier today we watched a lousy SyFy movie called Scarecrow. It starred Hogtie Lacey Chabert and she was about the only thing that held my attention.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I'd never heard of it. Being a gorehound I had to check it out and just picked up from Amazon for about $5 ppd.

"Street Law" (1974)
Italy didn't just make ultra violent horror movies during the 70s - they made lots of ultra violent crime thrillers too. In this Italian "Death Wish" variant, a mild mannered urban dweller (Franco Nero) goes vigilante after he's beaten up by gangsters during a bank robbery. "Street Law" has a great, action packed opening scene and a gritty ending but the mid section drags quite a bit as Nero wallows in self pity for awhile before bumbling around the city trying to get his hands on some weapons and finding out where the gang hides out. I've seen better, but this was an OK time waster.
