Is The Real Ratt coming back?..minus Blotzer

Man, Blotzer really seems tone in his own world, doesn't he?

someone really needs to have a proofreader before posting to social media.

In the next installment of "As the Ratt Turns," Metal Sludge is reporting that Carlos Cavazo is now out of Ratt as well.

For those of you who are keeping score, this leaves only one of the guys who played on Infestation (Pearcy) and Juan Croucier.

It's starting to sound like Pearcy and/or Juan is trying to do the same thing Blotzer was doing - cutting out the "original" band members so he/they can take the RATT name and go on the road backed by no-names who work cheap.

If that's the case, then the next court battle might be Blotzer suing them for stealing his business model. "That was my idea! I did it first!"

Funny thing is, as off the wall as Blotzer has been, this seems to suggest that what he said all along was in fact the truth.

Indeed. He's been very quick with the "I told you so's."

They just need to stop. Stop trying to reform, stop trying to sue one other, stop with all the silly drama and give it up.

I really liked Carlos in Ratt. Thought he was an excellent addition. I guess it's over, at least for me. Infestation was a good way to go out.

It's really amazing how much money these guys are willing to spend in court only to come out looking completely ridiculous.

It sounds like all intent and purposes Ratt is over with, at least for now, but I won't be surprised if in a year or two Ratt return with Pearcy, De Martini and Cavazo, with no Blotzer and Croucier. I have a feeling the lawsuit was to control the name in terms of merchandising, thou Atlantic Records own a majority of their discography, notice alot of their tunes have not been used in films unlike alot of others, so doubt Ratt was meant to be a working band like a Warrant and other bands after the last blow out.

Round and round it goes, what comes around, goes around.

That was awesome! I'd listen to that sooner than I'd purchase anything new from Ratt.

Apparently Stephen and Juan are driving the ship now. No word on who the other band members are at this point. Somehow I doubt Mr. Blotzer has been invited to the party.


RATT's 'New Breed' Is Moving Forward With STEPHEN PEARCY, JUAN CROUCIER

The new breed of RATT, led by founding members vocalist Stephen Pearcy and bassist Juan Croucier, will relaunch its well-storied hard rock brand this summer with a teaser of tour dates that foreshadow a schedule that will keep the band busy through the end of the year.

While RATT has evolved over several decades and endured various incarnations, this "new breed" of RATT promises to bring a renewed energy to the band.

"We have not had an all-original-member lineup since 1991, and sadly with the passing of Robbin Crosby, that chapter is over," said Pearcy. "However, if you still want to see the original band, there are many videos on YouTube and other places for fans to enjoy. That was a great band, but I guarantee that the new breed of RATT that we put on stage every night will be in your face, energized and fully engaged. Simply put, the band our fans deserve."

The new RATT promises to deliver a show heavy in the hits from the band's biggest albums which have sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Being one of the original Sunset Strip hard rock bands of the '80s, RATT began its infestation with the quadruple-platinum debut "Out of The Cellar". The band continues to grow its global fanbase to this day, as new fans discover RATT through streaming services like Spotify, songs in movies and new youth-oriented TV shows. The band is planning new tracks for 2019, along with a worldwide tour in support of "Out of The Cellar"'s 30th anniversary.

"Naturally, we are excited for the future of RATT," declared Croucier. "Our long-term goals are still the same: give the RATT fans the highest-quality shows possible — period. The evolution of the band has had many twists and turns. We are looking to the future and to the many good times ahead. We are moving forward with — the new breed of RATT!"

Back in March, it was reported by the Metal Sludge web site that guitarist Warren DeMartini was fired by Pearcy and Croucier, with undisclosed sources telling the site that "serious issues" existed between the three members of RATT's classic lineup. Fellow RATT guitarist Carlos Cavazo apparently confirmed the report a few days later, telling the site that he couldn't see himself continuing with the band without DeMartini. "I can't picture anyone else being there other than Warren," Cavazo was quoted as saying.

RATT — featuring DeMartini, Pearcy and Croucier — played a number of shows last year after reforming in 2016 in the midst of a highly publiced legal battle with drummer Bobby Blotzer over the rights to the RATT name. They were joined at the gigs by drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, who previously played with Y&T, WHITE LION and MEGADETH, among others.

Aren't they a few years late for that? Out of the Cellar came out in '84. 30 years would've been 2014.

At this point, I would rather see them all record music under a different name with other contemporaries than fighting over the control of a name that means less and less as the years pass by. Don't get me wrong, I thought Infestation was great and wish they skipped the drama and made another great record like that one with an accompanying tour and possible Live album, but if it's going to be one or two of the original five, then I don't really have an interest. It's not the same.

Just in case you need to update your Ratt score card, Blabbermouth reported yesterday that Jimmy DeGrasso, who's been drumming for Ratt since they "re-emerged" to take on Blotzer, is no longer working with them.

It also sez that the "new" Ratt lineup (which at this point consists of Pearcy, Croucier, and three mystery players) will debut on July 7 in Kansas.

According o another site I frequent, the new members are supposedly Pete Holmes (drums) and lead guitarist Jordan Ziff and rhythm guitarist Chris Sanders. So...there's ...that.

They're banking on the average joe-schmo and soccer mom crowd on the casino/state fair circuit not knowing (or caring) who's in the band, as long as Stephen (the one guy they recognize) is out front.
