Amazing! They're actually doing the smart thing and showing matches from the Rumble.
It's sad that these suddenly impromptu interviews with Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar/Paul Heyman spliced in with last night's Rumble matches are far more entertaining than anything I've seen on Raw in a long time.
I'm enjoying the hell outta this...
Can you imagine how pissed all the people are who actually bought the Royal Rumble on PPV? Suckers.

If anyone is dumb enough to spend $55 for the PPV instead of 9.99 to get the same content and more for months, then they deserve what they get IMO.
The sad part is that this impromptu showing of some Rumble matches coupled with some live impromptu studio interviews is way more entertaining than the crap WWE usually throws out there every Monday.
And who said Lesnar can't speak? He was fine on his interviews in studio tonight. I think that's the most I've ever heard him say. Maybe "creative" needs to just stop scripting what they want him to say and let him be himself. That philosophy could probably be applied to a lot of other wrestlers in WWE too.

Still plowing my way through the mythology episodes of The X-Files. I'm happy to see that the show holds up well, good storytelling never really dates, even if the surrounding technology may have improved. Each season of The X-Files was 24 episodes and in each season about 8 or 9 episodes would be devoted to arc material and the rest were stand alone monster of the week episodes. Just watching the arc material helps make it a fresh experience and I haven't seen the series for probably 15 years anyway.

"House of Usher" (1960)
In the first of Roger Corman's series of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations, a man wants to take his beloved fiancée away from her family's creepy old house, against the wishes of her creepy old brother (Vincent Price). This charmingly retro terror tale is hardly "scary" by modern standards but it's still a fun watch.

"The Living Daylights" (1987)
Timothy Dalton's first outing as James Bond is a mediocre (at best) affair. Dalton's performance is fine, but the story, which takes Bond from Czechoslovakia to Austria, Tangiers and Afghanistan in pursuit of Russian military arms dealers, is an overlong muddle. In addition, Maryam D'Abo is perhaps the blandest Bond girl in the series' history. The series was clearly unsure of what direction to go in after the departure of Roger Moore.
For whatever reason, I've always like the 2 Bond flicks that Dalton did and was kinda disappointed he didn't do a third. I had read hat this was originally written with Roger Moore in mind to still play Bond and had to get a bunch of stuff changed in it when Dalton was brought on (mainly goofy, jokey stuff that had been the norm for the Moore films).

I always felt kinda bad for Dalton cuz I think he could've been a decent Bond, he just never got a fair shot. Living Daylights was written while Moore was still Bond and like you said, it ended up being hastily re-written to fit Dalton's more serious portrayal, and it shows. It still has its moments but for a movie that was supposed to introduce a new Bond, it feels a lot like the same ol' same ol'. Licence to Kill was a major improvement that "fit" Dalton better.

I had no idea that the 'Living Daylights' was written with Moore in mind, I actually liked that movie, granted I have not seen since it was first in the theaters but remember enjoying that film and disliking 'Licence to Kill'
What I remember most about both films is that Bond was no longer bed hopping, they made that change to reflect the AIDS crisis of the era

Interesting, I always thought it was written for Brosnan, who was quickly replaced when Remington Steel was renewed....

That movie makes zero sense. I've read all kinds of supposed explanations about it but I just think the thing is unwatchably boring.

I've been watching the X-Files on Netflix and I agree that it holds up well.
Z-Nation - Watched the entire season. I'm okay with how cheesy it is, and it took a couple of episodes to get me into it, but it got better as it went along and ended really strongly, in my opinion.
Derek - 5 episodes in and I love this! I gentle comedy with heart. Really well done. Gervais might just be a comic "genius".
I, Frankenstien - It's okay. Better than some, worse than some.

I lasted exactly 15 minutes into I, Frankenstein before turning it off with a derisive laugh and choosing something better. Not even the hotness of Yvonne Strahovski was enough to make me keep watching it.
