Great show, but I have fallen so far behind on it that I'll never get caught up, unless it comes to Netflix and I can binge the entire season in one shot.

It sure looks like we're heading toward a New England/Seattle Superbowl which would royally suck in Tohoworld. Wouldn't be the first time I largely ignored the Superbowl and only tuned in during breaks in Puppy Bowl or other stuff on cable I find more entertaining than watching two teams I totally hate.
Same reaction I would have to a Yankees/Dodgers World Series although I have yet to boycott a WS.
Don't be hating on my Dodgers.
As far as the NFC and AFC Championships went. Both teams I really wanted to lose made it in. I dislike the Patriots just a tad more than Seattle. I may do like you Toho and skip it.
Funny thing is the Dodgers are my Dad's favorite team and I used to like them. Then they became the NL version of the Yankees, Red Sox and/or Angels and started throwing money around like it grows on trees. AND they have Yasiel Puig. So utter revulsion set in.
I agree they have been BIG spenders. Too big at times. But they have unloaded some of those high priced guys (even though I wouldn't have traded Matt Kemp). I do like Puig. He has hustle. The Dodgers need to reel in some of his craziness.

I actually hope they can reign in Puig because I DO admire the guy's hustle but he just needs to stop some of the showhoating. I'll say one thing, you never see Puig not hustling in the outfield or running out a ground ball. I might actually like the guy if he'd stop all the other crap; his ceiling is almost unlimited.

More Looney Tunes with Bugs Bunny...because anything these cartoons have to say is going to be far more intelligent than any crap from the state of the union address which is pre-empting my usual Tuesday night viewing, the one night I watch network TV.

"Sound City" (2013)
Dave Grohl directed this cool behind-the-scenes doc about the legendary California recording studio that was the site of countless classic recordings by Fleetwood Mac, Rick Springfield, Nirvana, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and many more. Sound City closed in 2011, a victim of changing times in the music biz, but its main console remains in use in Grohl's own recording studio. Educational and entertaining!!

Go to Turkey and see the Istanbul derby game (football) between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. Then you will ha ve seen fuming HATRED for something that is supposed to be entertainment.
Pretty much the reason I don't do sports. Fans take it too seriously, their team loses and their whole day is shot. Unless you have money riding on the game, does it really matter if a team wins or loses? Yeah, I know, I just don't get it.

Whiplash (2014)
This one is an ass-kicker. Wow. Exciting, intense flick involving a young jazz drummer and the tyrannical professor driving him to and over the edge. Yes, it's a little melodramatic at times but the exagerrated tone melds so perfectly with the over-amped charts it really creates a potent level of excitement. The finale is literally rousing, I almost jumped out of my seat. J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller are perfectly matched and they both give stellar, gutsy performances. Lots of killer jazz drumming on display as well. Highly recommended.

Stargate SG-1 rules!
I watch the entire series about every other year.
I admire how they write characters in and out and back in (Daniel Jackson) with the same deft hand that MASH used to have.

What's amazing is that even though some episodes are better than others, there really isn't a dud to be found, IMO. The writing and the acting are all superb. With the latter, my mom pointed out that it's so good they almost convince you every episode that they might not make it (even though you know they will). We're zipping through the show pretty quickly, already at season 8.

Dude, you need to check out Babylon 5. It ran for 5 seasons and there are overarching themes just like SG-1 has. The series struggled to find its footing at first but seasons 2 thru4 are some of my favorite TV episodes of any series ever.

"RED 2" (2013)
Bruce Willis and John Malkovich are back as retired CIA agents Frank and Marvin, who get wrapped up in another globe trotting adventure when bad guys connected to one of their past missions come gunning for them. Fast, funny, action packed stuff; I think I liked it better than the first "RED."

^^ I gave up on this after about five episodes. Like you said, it had a cool start but then went nowhere fast.... just like in the previous "AHS" seasons. I'm done with that show.

I thought season 1 of American Horror Story was very good. Season 2 was an utter mess that took me almost a year to finish because it felt like such a chore, but I had to complete it. Season 3 started out so well I thought it was going to be the best one yet, but then it collapsed around the midway point and farted out a wholly unsatisfactory ending. I didn't even bother with Freak Show, the law of diminishing returns forbade it.
