Lots of Mork and Mindy' the CLOO channel of all places ran a marathon in tribute to Robin Williams, I have not seen that show since the early-mid 80's and was surprised how well it held up despite its silly premise

Battlestar Galactica (1978 series) on Netflix...currently on Episode #4, "Lost Planet of the Gods (Part One)"
Loved this show as a kid, obviously it hasn't aged well at all but I get a warm 'n fuzzy blast of nostalgia every time I see it.

I watched the pilot episode a few years ago and decided that the dated factor outweighed the nostalgia factor for me. The special effects shots are cool at first, until they just started re-using the exact same shots for every episode afterward. It's about 10,000 times better than Buck Rogers though...
The show that brought back the real nostalgia for me was Space 1999 which is available for free on Hulu. It had been so long since I had seen it (probably 1979 or 1980) that I had forgotten it was a British series produced by the same company that did the "Thunderbirds Are Go" films.

With Martin Landau and Barry Bostwick I think. No, I didn't look it up; I was a MAJOR fan of Space:1999 back in the day.

OK, now I looked it up. I had the wrong "Double B" actor. It was Barbara Bain. Who the hell played the doctor? That's who I thought was played by Bostwick. Balding guy with muttonchop sideburns if I remember correctly.
EDIT: Got it. Barry Morse.

Wow ! Space:1999 is a show I haven't seen in a really long time. I vaguely remember it except for the chick who could change shape.

Space 1999 was cool too (what little I remember of it, anyway) but "Galactica" blew me away when I was a kid.

Oh Lord, I wouldn't watch "Galactica 1980" again if you paid me. I remember how disappointed I was by it when I was 10 years old. I was sooooo excited when that premiered cuz "my" show was getting a second chance, until I watched it...Even at 10 years old I knew it was gonna suck less than ten minutes into the first episode..

I remember seeing BG and BG 1980 as a marathon on the Sci-Fi channel as a kid. It was a tough watch. The science was nothing but ludicrous and the plot holes the size of a dark nebula. I could appreciate the effort, but god what a mess.

^^ I was 8 years old when BSG originally ran. I didn't give a sh*t about the science. It was a year after "Star Wars," I wanted more robots, spaceships, laser guns and sh*t blowin' up, all of which "BSG" had in abundance.

Yep, I was 10 when Battlestar:Galactica premiered and loved it. It had everything in it I needed. I thought Galactica 1980 was cool until I watched. No Apollo? No Starbuck ? No thanks. (I know there was a later episode that actually explained what happened to Starbuck but I never saw it.)
And is there any science fiction where the science isn't ludicrous?

Pure 70s cheese. An interesting cast (Bruce Dern,Casey Kasem and Pat "Marilyn Munster" Priest) in a horrible movie, yet somehow it entertained me. They certainly don't make 'em like this anymore. And I must say Pat Priest looks damn fine in a bikini (and shows a little more skin than I would have ever expected).

I was 9 and it was awesome at the time.... I still like watching it - I caught a few episodes on Netflix recently and still fun..... the problem is that I've seen every episode multiple times over the years so I can only watch it every now and then...
Galactica 1980 sucked bad..... I remember watching it as a kid and feeling let down that Starbuck and Apollo weren't in it... aside from a some scenes that seemed cool as a kid, it was pretty bad.
Space 1999 was fun too - haven't seen it in years, but it wasn't a favorite...
