It makes sense from a marketing standpoint but it's getting on my nerves for some unknown reason.

| I just avoid clicking on things. I can wait for the release date.
I'll make a night out of it for sure. A night, maybe a week. One of the best things in life: a new CD by one of your absolute favourite bands.

| Not the kind of opening band I would prefer, but it probably makes sense in terms of marketing for this tour.
I'll probably go if the tour comes to Chicago. But I have to say I was very underwhelmed by their performance on the Epitaph dvd. Halford was just kind of "talking" his way through a lot of the verses, with a lot of crowd-singing as well. That said, the tour did feature a monster set that must have been taxing to do every night.

I don't care enough about seeing Priest at this point to suffer through a Steel Panther set.

| I'll hit the Baltimore gig... it's a Friday night too! It looks like they are playing smaller venues now... I saw the Epitaph tour at the Izod Center in NJ and it's was a half arena gig (stage in center of arena, was close to being sold out, but not 100% sold out.) Last time they played near Baltimore was at Merriweather Post Pavillion, they have downsized to Pier Six Pavillion. | |

| Live is pretty much the only time I'd be interested in Steel Panther. On CD, the joke wears thin very, very quickly.
Opening for Priest would be an interesting line up, no question.

| I wonder if Rob will be able to get around on stage better after his surgery? He was obviously having a lot of back issues during Nostradamus tour. I was watching footage on YouTube (he sounded really rough, by the way) and he was obviously moving around very little...hobbling around some. I know he's in his 60s now, but he was obviously in some sort of pain. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| I didn't think he's sounded too great for quite a while now but I thought the whole band sounded surprisingly good on that Epitaph DVD.

| When I saw the Epitaph tour, Rob sounded great - sounded much better and clearer than the British Steel and Metal Masters tours.
And for the record, I do like Steel Panther - they put on a fun live show (actually seen them live 4 times now). There a band that I listen to the new album, but don't pull them out often after that - I'd rather go to show. And there is a 100% chance that Steel Panther opening up helps sell tickets.

That explains a lot. Rob was about as still as a statue for the first 3-4 songs when I saw them on the Masters Of Metal tour. I knew it had to be about more than age as RJD (as we now know, was in his 70s) was moving around the stage like a man almost half his age.

Yeah, there's no question that such a merger is strategic at best. As much as SP irks me (too crass and crude) they pull a massive contemporary demographic, so seats are gonna get filled. I'd be willing to see them live, anyway.

| Blabbermouth is reporting that the entire album is available for streaming at itunes radio for those interested, although the link in the story doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

| iTunes is doing a free "First Play" streaming thing where they let you stream the entire album one time for free to check out. I'm on the 3rd song I think now, and its sounding very solid indeed, much better than the short clips they've been releasing give the impression of. They ain't reinventing the wheel on anything, but its sounding like good straight ahead metal. | |

| Listened to the First Play thing, can't say I'm blown away. Maybe it'll grow on me but right now I feel this will go down as one of Priest's weakest albums, Turbo/Nostradamus territory. | |
