Watched the first bowl game of the season (Wash St. vs Colo. St. in the New Mexico Bowl) and it turned out to be spectacular. Co. St. scored 18 points in the final 4 minutes or so to win 48-45. Washington St literally fumbled the game away.

Watched UNC squeak out an overtime win against Davidson in college basketball. Then watched the Hurricanes lose to Tampa Bay in hockey.

The Spectacular Now (2013)
A real gem of a film, played very realistically and devoid of most cliches usually associated with films about teenagers. Miles Teller gives a breakout performance.

Fast & Furious (2009)
The fourth installment in the 'F&F' series re-teams the late Paul Walker's FBI agent with Vin Diesel's street racing ex-con, both of whom want to take down a Mexican drug lord. As you might expect, lots of cars get destroyed in the process.
Believe it or not this is the first 'F&F' flick I've seen in its entirety. I probably won't be bothered to catch up on the rest of the series but for whatever it's worth, this flick was a decent time waster.

For some reason even though I will watch any number of mindless flicks with cool cars explosions and the like I just can't ever seem to make it all the way through one of these F&F movies. I've sat down several times intending to finish one but invariably they seem to bore me and my attention wanders and I never finish one.

I've seen bits & pieces of some of the other "F&F's" while channel surfing but this is the first one I've sat and watched all the way thru. For some ungodly reason I was wide awake at 6 AM this morning, so I needed something to occupy myself until the rest of the family woke up...and it just so happened that this flick was the only thing in the Free On Demand selection that was even remotely interesting. At that time of the morning, it kept me entertained. Besides, the recent death of Paul Walker made me somewhat morbidly curious.

Today I watched the Rams dominate Tampa Bay. We're now 7-8 and we've played most of the season without our starting QB. I can hardly wait for next season when we have Bradford back at QB and have figured out our identity is a "running" team. Plus we get Washington's first round draft pick in 2014 which is looking to be really high so we'll probably trade down so we can get a bunch of linemen and safeties.

Steelers vs Packers. An AWESOME game ! Steelers score with 1:35 or so left to take a 38-31 lead.On the ensuing kickoff, they let Green Bay return it to their 30. On the last play, Flynn misfires to preserve the win. I love these types of games, especially when my team wins them.

Actually, yes. Especially since I don't like any other team in that division at all.

It killed me to have to root for the Cowboys but the Rams have Washington's first round pick in the 2014 draft so I need them to lose out.

That deal with Washington looks better all the time. Yesterday the Rams started 4 players from that draft (Michael Brockers, Zac Stacy, Steadman Bailey and Alec Ogletree) and all had outstanding games. So if we get say the number 2 or 3 overall pick the Rams will probably try to pull the same thing again and trade the pick for multiple picks. We mainly need secondary and O-line help and we should be able to find that in the 2nd or 3 rounds.
