| "Inside Deep Throat" (2005)...intriguing documentary about the early 70s porn flick that made a star out of Linda Lovelace, broke box office records and ignited a firestorm of controversy over the limits of obscenity and free speech. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Saw an unusual costume drama last night, called Hysteria, about the man who invented the electrical vibrator. Actually quite fun. _________________ | |

| Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
Duke got out to a big lead but now "Johnny Football" is trying to bring A&M back. I can't stand A&M since Manziel broke big so I want anyone to beat them. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| "Batman" (1989) Tim Burton's Goth take on the Dark Knight has held up pretty well. Jack Nicholson steals the movie with his over the top portrayal of the Joker. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| "Unauthorized and Proud Of It: The Story of Rock N Roll Comics"... Interesting documentary about upstart comics publisher Todd Loren, whose Revolutionary Comics line became a magnet for copyright infringement lawsuits and First Amendment battles, before he was mysteriously murdered in 1992 (a crime which remains unsolved). Intervewees include rockers like Alice Cooper and Mojo Nixon as well as a host of comics professionals. ....thanx to Kmorg for this DVD!! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Roots - The Original Mini Series
Saw this as a kid, so when I saw the box set cheap I thought why not?
Powerful stuff, thought that it might be really cornball but it isn't, I'm really enjoying it (if that's the right words given the subject matter)

I saw that documentary years ago, very interesting, the comments from one of the guys was hilarous, 'The movie is s**t, the script was s**t, the directing was s**t" what he think they were making? 'Casablance?

I saw that documentary years ago, very interesting, the comments from one of the guys was hilarous, 'The movie is s**t, the script was s**t, the directing was s**t" what he think they were making? 'Casablance? I think that the director, at least, was delusional enough to think that "Deep Throat" was going to take porn "mainstream" and that hardcore sex was going to become a part of major Hollywood productions. On a related note, last night I watched "Lovelace," a bio-pic starring Amanda Seyfried as "Deep Throat" star Linda Lovelace. Great performances all around but the movie never finds the right "tone," it can't decide if it wants to be a candy coated '70s period piece about a plucky all-American gal's brief foray into porn stardom, or a gritty drama about spousal abuse and victimization. A very uneven flick. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Sunset Strip (2012) - Good documentary about the history of the fabled section of Sunset Boulevard with lots of archival footage and interviews of actors, musicians, club-owners, etc. Hard to believe the Sunset Strip was originally a dirt road through undeveloped land between Hollywood and Beverly Hills...undeveloped land, in Los Angeles? |

| "Machete Maidens Unleashed" -- hilarious documentary about the Filipino exploitation movie industry of the 70s, when U.S. filmmakers like Roger Corman and other schlockmeisters discovered that the islands' natural beauty (and low costs) made it the perfect place to crank out dozens of sleazy, t&a filled horror, action, kung fu and women-in-prison flicks. Tons of clips of boobs, decapitations, and stuff blowing up accompanies interviews with B movie royalty like John Landis, Dick Miller, Pam Grier and Corman himself. After watching this doc I added about a dozen titles I'd never heard of before to my "I gotta see that!" list. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
