| This would make a great tribute playlist....
Slayer songs solely credited to Jeff Hanneman (music).
Show No Mercy: The Antichrist Die By The Sword Fight Till Death Tormentor
Hell Awaits: At Dawn They Sleep Necrophiliac Hardening Of The Arteries
Reign In Blood: Angel Of Death Altar Of Sacrifice Reborn Postmortem Raining Blood
South Of Heaven: South Of Heaven Live Undead Behind The Crooked Cross Read Between The Lies Cleanse The Soul Spill The Blood
Seasons In The Abyss: War Ensemble Blood Red Spirit In Black Dead Skin Mask Seasons In The Abyss
Divine Intervention: 213
Undisputed Attitude: Can't Stand You Ddamn
Diabolus In Musica: The entire album except for the song "In The Name Of God" by King
God Hates Us All: Darkness Of Christ Disciple God Send Death Threshold Deviance
Christ Illusion: Eyes Of The Insane Jihad Black Serenade Final Six
World Painted Blood: World Painted Blood Unit 731 Beauty Through Order Human Strain Psychopathy Red Playing With Dolls
And this list doesn't count all the Hanneman/King dual songwriting credits.
I think it's not a coincidence that my least favorite album by Slayer is Divine Intervention and that's the record with hardly any input from Jeff.

| Wow... I had no idea that Jeff was that prolific within slayers output. In that list are pretty much all there best songs. Indeed they won't be the same without him.
RIP Jeff Hanneman | |

| Wow! Totally out of left field! Sad news indeed. I shall wear my War Ensemble shirt tomorrow and put South Of Heaven on the playlist. | |

| Saw the headline on Blabbermouth earlier. Had to read it a few times because I couldn't believe it. Totally stunned. Still not sure what to say. Just shocking and sad news and a huge loss. | |

Thank you for that, S.D. I am going to honor him today by playing what albums I do have, and play only those songs from them.

| I'm devastated Looking at that song list makes me realize the profound effect he has had on my life and whole attitude to music. Will be sadly missed, Bloodstock this year will be very different for me now. | |

| In the aftermath of this tragedy looms the question: where does this leave Slayer?
Obviously the 'band' has been touring with Gary Holt in place of Hanneman but Holt was just a temporary fill in... During Jeff's absence Lombardo also left the band...
Essentially you now have only half a band left and without an important songwriter. I don't know if you can really call it Slayer anymore without the integral Jeff/King team. Stranger things have happened though, Sepultura without any original members, Priest without KK... except for an obvious difference... i mean those bands can always reform, bring back previous members and so on..
From a touring aspect I think it was important for the big four thrash bands to tour and play together several years ago. It felt important then but it feels like things came full circle at the right time for everyone involved.

| I think as long as Tom and Kerry are in, they'll continue w/ the Slayer name. For how much longer is anyone's guess. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| I guess I never really paid much attention to Paulo. I recall Max saying Paulo did not even play bass on any of their albums until later on either on Chaos or on Roots. Supposedly for a long time Max played all the bass parts. Call me biased but I like Max and I am more inclined to believe his side of the story.
The Sepultura of today only has 2 band members worth mentioning and that is Andreas and Derrick Green. They have written some cool music as of late but would be probably better accepted under a different band name than riding on Max's creation.

| Anyone hear that the Westboro Baptist Church made a statement about God killing Jeff Hanneman?
I have no doubts now that they plan on picketing his funeral. That's just despicable.

Slayer said 'God Hates Us All' and so do they! People need to be careful, One violent outburst would be just what these lawsuit happy ghouls want.

Yeah, it'd be more shocking if they said: "We are sorry to hear about the end of a life lost too soon. Though we at Westboro do not agree with the subject matter of Slayer and are offended by their album covers, our prayers go to his family during their time of mourning." That would be something.
