Jeff Hanneman R.I.P. (1964-2013)

Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.

Tragic and sudden. Jeff wrote all of my favorite Slayer material, and always (at least in my opinion) came off as the sole force in the band with creativity.
Will be missed, R.I.P.

It sucks that he's dead. As a guitarist he inspires me a ton. I would have given up playing guitar if it wasn't for him. I wonder if Slayer will continue. I have mix feeling's about Slayer continuing what do you guys think?

I think band will continue at least a little bit longer, but their next studio album, if there is one, will not be the same without his contributions.

This news freaked me out! I was watching a Jimmy Johns commercial today, and there was this guy behind bars in a scene. I said out loud, that guy looks like Jeff Hanneman. After that, I left for a 4-5 mile run. I finished, got on my phone to get on Facebook, and I see that he's died. I was in total shock...R.I.P. Jeff
