I picked up Truth the other day and found it to be phenomenal. Any other fans here?

I used to have Truth on cassette, but never upgraded to cd. I no longer have the tape. Great album though, from what I remember.

My favorite albums by Jeff were the instrumentals "Blow by Blow" and "Wired"; which is strange because I don't normally go for instrumental projects. Beck, Bogert and Appice was a good one too.

Yea, I'd love to get that double disc edition that Ult has on his site, but I've never seen it anywhere.

I love his stuff, mostly from Yardbirds to 1989's Guitar Shop. His last 10 years or so Im not really a fan of, techno-house beat crap.

I'm not familiar with that site. Are they a dependable service?

All I have is Blow By Blow, but I think it's pretty cool stuff. However, I have to be in the mood to listen to it. Since there are no lyrics to focus on, I tend to listen to it when I'm typing papers or something like that.
Does he have any tunes with lyrics?

Huge Jeff beck, I prefer his instrumental work such as " Blow by Blow" and " Wired". I am also huge fan of " Truth" love that album, it has been said that Jimmy Page used this album as a blueprint for the first led Zeppelin album, even went as far as to cover " You Shook Me', which of course The Jeff beck Group had already recorded. It features Rod Steward on vocals before he thought he was sexy.
One of my guitar heroes.

I've always liked Jeff Beck. I have "Guitar Shop", "Blow By Blow", and the one he collaborated with Rod Stewart with "People Get Ready" on it, I think its titled "Flash". Love that song. I saw him and Stevie Ray Vaughan play together back in 1988 or 89. Fantastic show, I'll never forget it.
I really need to get more of his music.

That's where I am at with Jeff Back as well. "There & Back" is great as well.
Never been a fan of Rod Stewart's vocals, so he ruined a lot of Jeff Beck's music for me.

I am huge Jeff Beck fan, but Flash is a terrible album, he tired to incorporate a more modern pop element to his sound similar to what Iggy Pop and David Bowie were doing at that time,to make it more radio friendly, even hired Nile Rodgers to produce the album, but IMO it did not work, " People Get Ready" is one of few saving graces that release, avoid this album unless you are a completeist like me.

People Get Ready, is actually the only song off that album that I can think of. I pulled the album out a few weeks ago and recorded that song into my PC but didn't bother with any of the others. Guess I am in agreement with others here even if I didn't actually realize it on this point.
I don't hate Rod Stewart but I have never bought any of his music. It just isn't a style that I play much

Jeff Beck is IMO the greatest guitarist ever! There is not a style he can't play with more feeling and talent than anyone else!
His last 3 albums, Who Else?, Jeff and You Had It Coming are Techno/Metal/Jazz Fusion Hybrids! GENIUS!!!

Excellent albums criss30, 'Who Else" and "Jeff" what other guitartist in his mid 60's is still challenging himself like Jeff Beck?
The only Jeff Beck album I never cared for was 'Beck, Bogart, and Appice", the songs were good but Tim Bogart's vocals were godawful, thankfully he deceided to become instrumentalist after that album.

I just bought “ Blow by Blow “ CD. Never listened to Beck before. During the first song I was cracking jokes “ Working at the Carwash yeah “ Had a few tequila shots - sat down - opened a book - and wow ! Into it ! I know Joe Perry thought the world of him. Easy listen and fun without being obnoxious - as with sound effects or tricks.

Jeff Beck is amazing!
He’s even better than Clapton. And to be honest, he’s technically better than Hendrix.
He is just too “avant-garde” for most people. Hendrix and Jimmy Page wrote those classic songs... and that is what people remember more than guitar skills.

Tim Bogert’s backing vocals were excellent with Vanilla Fudge. Too bad it didn’t translate as well doing the lead vocals.

I agree TZ, Tim Bogart was not bad in Vanilla Fudge but in Jeff Beck, it just sounded flat, tuneless. There are far less talented vocalist than Bogart that I enjoy but on this album he just sounded out of place.
