I read an AC/DC interview years ago where Brian Johnson told a story about his Mother not understanding the lyrics to that song. He overheard her on the phone with a relative saying "Oh, my Brian just loves animals. He just wrote a song about a dog," and he he didn't have the heart to tell her. Laughing very hard

That's usually how I feel when it comes to christian metal. Bible verses as lyrics just sound cheesy and forced to my ears. Being atheist, I prefer secular music most of the time, but exceptions can be made for great musicianship or songwriting.

Cheesy lyrics go both ways. Even when I was religious I had to stay away from a few bands simply because the lyrics were just too "sunday school". On the other side of the spectrum, most of the whole black metal "HAIL SATAN" thing annoys me too.
