New Six Magics album coming. (See the first post in this thread for more.) I still have just two albums by them. One is old, with a male singer, and is much more in the Rhapsody vein. The other album I have, with the female singer, is much groovier and whatnot...

But this new (live) song sounds more in that vein. You know, symphonic, bombastic power metal. Good tune. They sound pretty solid live, as well.

Interesting.

I know most here probably dislike this band, but I dig them. This song, though, is not at all what I expected. It's more industrial than what they've done before. I really dig it. Wonder if it's a one-off kind of tune or if the whole album is like this.

I don't think this band has been mentioned yet. League of Lights are a side-project of Threshold keyboard player with his wife on vocals. Their new single features a guest appearance from former Threshold singer Glyn Morgan.

Anyone ever heard Royal Thunder? I snagged their album today based on the blurbs on the package, which referred to it as "Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde fronting Black Sabbath" and "a revved-up Southern hard-rocker that howls like Led Zeppelin astride a pyschedelic unicorn." Not sure I get that last one, but it sounded interesting. Haha.

And man, it's killer! It's on Relapse so I was kind of expecting something much harsher, but it's more or less 70s kind of hard rock meets the so-called "doom" of that era. Quality stuff.
