Some members of Stygian Sky and Mortality Work performed a cover of Morbid Angel's God of Emptiness, but with a female vocalist.

For some odd reason, Operatika changed their name to Operatika Element. That's like bad to worse. Both are really dumb names.
Good thing is, names don't really matter, and this band kicks ass! They've got a new single coming out soon.
Not sure if it's just a digital thing or not, though. Then a new full-length comes out next year.
That's from their debut EP. Notice any similarities?

Not bad. I actually saw that CD the other day and, for some reason, assumed it was some new screamo band.

Skimmed the thread and didn't see this artist.
Any fans of The Great Kat, the classically trained violinist turned speed metal guitarist? Looks like she's still around, but I only know her stuff from back in the '80s when she wrote songs with the most juvenile Satanic lyrics. I got her cassette Worship Me Or Die when I was a kid due to my curiosity for such stuff at the time.

MC666 is a fan of hers I believe.

Anyone up for a Japanese hybrid of old Cynic and Dream Theater with a ferocious woman on vocals?

I don't know if she was mentioned, but I've always dug Kate French in Vainglory.

I don't remember if I posted this or not:
Yes, the vocals on the cover are by a woman. I know her personally, she's really cool.

Love both Babes in Toyland and The Distillers. Brody ain't looking so tough and trashy anymore, though.

Just read the thread from the start and didn't realise it was supposed to be for obscure acts (Babes in Toyland and The Distillers!!)
I really love female fronted bands (Purson, Jess & The Ancient Ones, Blood Ceremony, Christian Mistress, Blues Pills, Black Veil Brides being recent favs)
Another one who's not particulaly obscure but I've not seen mentioned on here is Jex Thoth
Good stuff if you like that kind of thing (and I do )
The Black Moth record is on my list (it also has one of the best covers i've seen in a while)
Also on my list is this strangely alluring and hypnotic band from Finland (I mean is it possible to resist a band described as punky occult kraut doom)
