I'm a little confused. A Deep Purple song that's a tribute to Machine Head?
It's a good rendition, nothing surprising.
1. Smoke On The Water - Carlos Santana & Jacoby Shaddix 2. Highway Star - Chickenfoot 3. Maybe I'm A Leo - Glenn Hughes & Chad Smith 4. Pictures Of Home - Black Label Society 5. Never Before - Kings Of Chaos: Joe Elliott, Steve Stevens, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum 6. Smoke On The Water - Flaming Lips 7. Lazy - Jimmy Barnes with Joe Bonamassa 8. Space Truckin - Iron Maiden 9. When A Blind Man Cries - Metallica
Available on Sept. 25th
Can't say I'm all that familiar with the Flaming Lips, but they seem to be the odd-man-out on that line-up.

Bands are covering the songs off of Machine Head for a tribute to it...
Of course, I knew that.
When A Blind Man Cries was never on Machine Head until the 2-disc reissue in the late 90s. Originally it was the b-side to the "Never Before" single but was never on the LP itself.
Century Media bands covering other Century Media bands. For example:
Arch Enemy-Book Of Heavy Metal (Dream Evil) Brand New Sin-Watching Over Me (Iced Earth) Wolf-Alma Mater (Moonspell) Firewind-Believe In Nothing (Nevermore) In This Moment-Heaven's A Lie (Lacuna Coil)
among others.

Love this cover of Celtic Frost's "Circle Of The Tyrants". Some nice arrangement touches that make it stand out.
I love that version, because they decided to re-arrange the entire mid section and turn it into a jam...if you are going to do a cover, make it your own.
Including the Finale made it if you ask me and I don't know if Veronica knows about toning down vocals.

Here is The Agony Scene covering Paint It Black. Normally bands of this style tend to annoy me but for whatever reason I really like them, and the lead singer has one of the most unique screams that I have ever heard

Can we start an on-line petition to stop bands from covering 'Paint It Black' anymore? Ever. That's enough, people!! Yeesh!!
