Here is a band that I have dug since puberty. "Searched" and no threads about these guys. On par with Helix, Kick Axe, Haywire, etc as far as Canadian Melodic metal goes. All five of their studio albums are great and instantly recognizable - but I have always played "Dirty Weapons" way more than the others. THAT is a classic Canadian MM album.
Can't tolerate those Vevo ads, otherwise would have included the promo-vid proper. [I'll add it to the bottom of this post though, just in case you have more patience than I}

Like 'em a lot! Canadian metal band with a ton of hooks. "Stand Tall" is probably the most played of their discography for me.

I know for me personally, their silly name held them back. I just assumed they were some goofy hair band (not that I didn't already listen to my share of goofy hair bands). Many moons later when I actually heard the music, I was rightfully impressed.
That reminds me, I need to get some Killer Dwarfs.

Goofy names...Well, I was gonna say something - but instead, I will just start a new thread. We can discuss it there [but, I agree MG].

Remember them being briefly on MTV and had a couple cassettes but never replaced them. Might have to add them to the list.

A teacher of mine knew them and said they were really nice guys in person.

I have the Dirty Weapons reissue with bonus tracks. It's a cool album. Very catchy!

The first time I noticed their name was in the movie The Gate.

Add them to your list, but don't get your hopes up. They're a little pricey.

Dirty Weapons is a deserted island disc for me. And I still believe to this day if the band name was something else it would've been a monster hit. Well, that and about two years earlier. One of my favorite concert memories was seeing them at Hammerjacks in Baltimore. Wasn't a big crowd but it was a crowd that was big into the K Dwarfs. When they started to play "Doesn't Matter" (and how was that not a massive hit?) the crowd started singing it with so much enthusiasm that the band just stopped and let us sing the entire song.
Ever see what Stand Tall goes for these days - http://www.amazon.com/Stand-Tall-Killer-Dwarfs/dp/B00006L5IT/ref=ntt_mus_dp_dpt_5
And any that drop below a hundred get snatched quickly.
See Metalguy beat me to it.

^^^ Holy chizz! I got a copy of Stand Tall on CD (original Grudge Recs. pressing) a couple of years back for nothin', from a gal at work who was ditching a pile of CDs left behind by her no-good boyfriend when she kicked him out of her apartment. I knew it was a collectible but I had no idea it was goin' for that much!!

The rest of their stuff is kinda pricey too, but that Stand Tall album is RIDICULOUS!! When I think of all the times I used to see their discs in the used shops and just passed over them because of the dumb name.

Should be pointed out that the one that goes for crazy prices is the reissue. The original, I believe, still goes for in the 15-20 range.

...which seems pretty bass-ackwards, doesn't it? Usually the original press would be the one that commands stoopid $$.

Here is a hair metal band I actually have no cd's by. I see their albums in 3.99 bins at hastings all the time. Think I will pick them up.

Been on a Killer Dwarfs kick lately. After only owning Dirty Weapons for a few years now, i lately ordered 3 more albums: their self titled, Big Deal and Method To The Madness.
Great stuff.
