What is worse about 'The New Odd Couple' other then the skin color of the characters nothing changed!!!! They even used old scripts from the 70's, the only thing that changed was the music was made more 'urban', and it was cancelled in about 5 minutes after the first epsiode aired.

I remember seeing promo's for "Three's A Crowd" but by that point, "Three's Company" had more than run its course and I hadn't watched it in years.
I don't know if I ever watched "Matt Houston" but I know my Mom liked the guy who played him.
As for Teri Copley, the "We Got It Made" chick -- do a Google Image Search on her. Yum yum yummy.

Recycled the scripts? was there a writer's strike at the time? LOL

Will anyone admit to having watched "Cop Rock," a mix of the gritty urban cop show and the musical??
Man, cocaine really IS a hell of a drug. How else could a concept this ridiculous have gotten a green light? In between all of the usual investigation and procedural stuff you'd see in any other cop show, the characters would also break into big movie-musical style song and dance numbers without warning at any given time.
I remember that there was a TON of hype for this show before it premiered, then it crashed and burned within weeks. I never saw it when it was current, but curiosity got the better of me when VH1 ran a marathon of all of the episodes on a Saturday afternoon about ten years ago. I couldn't even make it through fifteen minutes of one show.

That's about how much of the Cop Rock premier I watched. I changed the channel halfway through the first song and dance number.

Man, that Randy Newman theme song should have been the first clue that this show was a lost cause.

Ahhh...Teri Copely. I Married A Centerfold was my favorite movie at one point for all the right/wrong reasons. Another big crush I had was Shawn Weatherly. She had that show Ocean Quest. Never missed that one and was mad when it got canceled. Years later someone got me that Bare Facts nudity guide book and I saw she had some topless scenes in some straight to video junk. Tracked down a copy only to find the thrill was gone by then.
I really liked Three's A Crowd. My local syndication station would show Three's Company in order right on through to Three's A Crowd. So over a summer you could watch the whole thing. They even started showing the British version too (I didn't really get it). Three's Company is the only show I own all the seasons of on dvd.
Cop Rock brings back terrifying memories of one of my freshmen year roommates. Dude was addicted to television. I mean infomercial watching addicted. He loved Cop Rock and thought it was the best show of that season. And yeah he would sing the songs too. He taped them onto cassette off the television. It was horrifying.
Any love for Parker Lewis Can't Lose.

I loved, loved LOVED Buck Rogers!! I was about 10 or 11 when that was on and since I was totally sci-fi crazed at the time I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Although I saw it a again couple of years ago on Sci-Fi Channel and it had aged HORRIBLY.
You can't argue with Erin Gray as Col. Wilma Deering though.
Humma-humma-humma!
My Dad hated science fiction but he used to watch "Buck" with my brother and I strictly because of her.

I thought the first Buck Rogers series was good but when they went on the Searcher the series tanked...
as for Cop Rock - i felt victimized after watching the first 13 1/4 minutes...

I'm havin' way too much fun with this thread... here's another goody:
"The Flash" was actually one of the better TV superhero shows. The Tim Burton "Batman" movie had just made a ton of $$ so they were obviously going for that sort of feel (I think the Flash's theme song was even written by Danny Elfman, who'd done the score for "Batman"). I really liked this show but just like the Flash himself, it disappeared quickly.
I rented that from netflicks. Good thing too - I am glad i didnt waste my money.
We also saw:
The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries

Good grief, "Joanie Loves Chachi?" I've been trying to erase the memory of that show for years!!!
Gack! "Ferris Bueller"... my eyes are bleeding!!! (Had no idea Aniston was on that show BTW. I hated the "Ferris" movie so I never bothered with the series.)
Used to dig the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries when I was a kid. The chick who played Nancy Drew (Pamela Sue something or other) was cute. There was quite a brou-ha-ha when she posed for Playboy while she was still playing "Nancy" on TV.

Got another one... remember the TV series version of the helicopter action film "Blue Thunder?"
The TV show picked up pretty much where the movie left off, although obviously they had to ignore the fact that Roy Scheider's character (played by James Farentino on TV) deliberately destroyed the Blue Thunder chopper at the end of the film by landing it on a railroad track in the path of an oncoming train.
For some reason the TV version added a Blue Thunder "Ground Unit" called "Rolling Thunder," which was manned by former pro footballers Dick Butkus and (pre-"Police Academy") Bubba Smith. They followed the helicopter around in a truck to provide backup whenever the pilots got into trouble (i.e. in every episode).
A young Dana Carvey (!) played Blue Thunder's co-pilot, nicknamed "JAFO," who'd been played by Daniel Stern in the film version. In the movie the initials "JAFO" stood for "Just Another F**king Observer," which was softened to "...Frustrated Observer" in the TV series.
I had loved the movie (still do actually...last time I saw it, it had held up pretty well) so I dug the series too. What the hell, I was 14. I'm sure if I saw it now, it'd be pretty terrible.
If memory serves, most of the shots of the helicopter in action were recycled straight from the film. That probably had a lot to do with how quickly it was cancelled; I mean, there's only so many times you can use the same movie clips.
Wikipedia sez it lasted a mere 11 episodes, so I must've been the only kid watching it.

'Feris Bueller' TV show thankfully I never saw the show.
Another movie tv show inspired series that actually lasted for a few years was 'Private Benjamin' which was almost as crappy as the movie that inspired the series:

My parents LOVED that freakin' show.
The chick who played Benjamin in the TV version was one of the stewardesses in "Airplane" (the one who knocks out the sick girl's I.V. while playing guitar for her)... cute chick. Her name totally escapes me now and I'm too lazy to go look it up on Wiki.
As "Private Benjamin" rip-offs went, I greatly preferred the porn parody "Army Brat," starring the great Jamie Sommers.

Here's one that I would like to forget: GALACTICA 1980, the thankfully short lived spin off from the original '78 sci-fi series, in which the crew of the Galactica finally reaches Earth, followed of course by the Cylons. Hijinks ensued when the Galactica crew, trying to keep a low profile, mixed with Earthlings with predictably disastrous results.
There was so much wrong with this show that it wasn't even funny. The only characters that returned from the original series were Lorne Greene as Cmdr. Adama and Lieutenant Boomer (Herbert Jefferson), who has been promoted to Colonel. (Dirk Benedict did make one appearance as Starbuck in a flashback episode, which ended up being the final episode of the series). Captain Apollo is nowhere to be seen though his adopted son "Boxey" is now grown up and goes by the name "Troy," and he and his fellow Galacticans now have to protect Earth from the Cylons, who've followed them thru space (of course). There was also some kind of psychic kid named "Dr. Zee" whose purpose I don't remember (he was an advisor of some kind to Adama), but I do recall that I found him extremely annoying.
Thankfully I only have vague memories of this show; the only episode I recall clearly involved Troy and his fellow warriors visiting a Halloween party which was crashed by Cylons. The Cylon threat was thwarted when someone turned on a microwave oven which short circuited them. No, I'm not kidding.
The special effects (the ones that weren't recycled from the old show, anyway) were cheap, the stories were crap, and even though in retrospect the original "BSG" may not have exactly been great shakes, it looks 1000 times better than this crappy re-hash.
I loved the original "Galactica" as a kid and when "1980" came along I was excited at first... till I saw it. Afterwards I was mad enough to spit at what they'd done to my favorite show.

Galactica 1980 was crap. I think I saw ever episode at one point or another. I remember the first three episode where combined together to make a made for TV movie that used air on Showtime back in the early 80's.
