How'bout Anvil's "Five Knuckle Shuffle" instead? That'd really flip some wigs among their fundamental fanbase. Stryper - The Covering - Page 7 Affraid

What Stryper albums would you recommend i get?

The only one i own so far is Reborn and it's not that good.

I think you'll find universally that their best albums are "Soldiers Under Command" and "To Hell With the Devil". Those are the most widely loved/recommended, anyway. If you want the band at their most raw, their debut "The Yellow and Black Attack" is good. If you like the slick pop-metal sound, "In God We Trust" is also a really good disc. I'm less a fan of "Against the Law", even though it has some great tracks.

AGAINST THE LAW is their best album!! At least, it's the one that's aged the best over the years.

I disagree.

I was disappointed in "Against the Law" from the moment I heard it. Though it does have a handful of good songs. Half the album is total crap.

Stryper just doesn't sound good playing blues. They should leave that to Great White and Whitesnake.

"To Hell with the Devil" is the album that has aged best over the years.

Though you can't go wrong with any of their first 4 albums. I'd rank em like so:

1. To Hell with the Devil 10/10
2. In God We Trust 10/10
3. Soldiers Under Command 9/10
4. The Yellow and Black Attack 8/10

Add "In God We Trust" to the mix and I agree 100%! Those 3 albums are all KILLER!!! And essential for anyone looking to explore Stryper's work.

Here is what they are recording according to Classic Rock:

Stryper are currently recording an album full of cover versions.
As yet untitled, it’s to be released later in 2010. And among those songs the Christian rockers plan on doing are:
Judas Priest – Breaking The Law
Iron Maiden – The Trooper
Scorpions – Blackout
Ozzy Osbourne – Over The Mountain
Sweet – Set Me Free
Van Halen – On Fire
Deep Purple – Highway Star
Black Sabbath – Heaven And Hell
UFO – Lights Out
Kansas – Carry On Wayward Son

According to Stryper's Facebook page, they have now added KISS' "Shout It Out Loud" to their repertoire

Highway Star, Lights Out and Carry On My Wayward Son. Nice! They could have picked a better KISS song though.

Has anybody ever covered "Rock Bottom" by KISS, complete with the intro ? I still remember seeing KISS in 76' and the way they played the intro. Paul comes out with a double neck guitar and Ace comes up behind him. On each neck one does the chords on the neck while the other picks.
It was realy kewl to watch.
