| I hope the concert promoters of Earth have been notified, because I'm sure a worldwide arena tour unlike anyone has ever seen will follow this mammoth release! - Quote :
- OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - SEPTEMBER 2009
KEEL has signed with FRONTIERS RECORDS, one of the elite labels in Hard Rock and Melodic Rock, and will release two albums simultaneously in January 2010.
The band announced their reunion last November, and enjoyed appearances at major summer festivals such as Rocklahoma, South Texas Rock Festival, the Mid West Rock Fest, and the M3 Rock Festival in Maryland, in addition to sold-out headline shows in Hollywood and Phoenix. The energy and excitement of these tour dates spawned a surge of creative activity, resulting in an album's worth of new material. This album, entitled "Streets Of Rock & Roll," is the first new KEEL recording in twenty years.
KEEL promises this new release will continue in the tradition of their previous efforts - fist-pumping crowd-pleasing hard rock anthems fueled by screaming vocals and driven by powerful guitars. The project is being produced by Pat Regan (Deep Purple, KISS, Warrant etc.) and will feature guest appearances by Jaime St. James (Black N Blue) and Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot) who is also producing and recording Ron's lead vocal sessions.
Frontiers Records will also release "The Right To Rock: 25th Anniversary Edition," exactly 25 years after this classic album first hit the streets. This official reissue will be digitally remastered and will feature a brand new recorded version of the title track, which is even louder and heavier than the original. "The Right To Rock (Reunion Version)" features an all-star vocal chorus, and the band is also inviting fans everywhere to sing on the track: you can download a sample chorus on KEEL's MySpace, add your voice to the mix, send the band an MP3, and these will be mixed in to the actual recording of this timeless classic. For details, visit the KEEL web site www.keelband.com and the KEEL MySpace www.myspace.com/keelband. The band wishes to express their thanks to everyone at Frontiers Records for their support and belief in KEEL. Frontiers is firmly established at the forefront in this genre, having successfully released projects from Journey, Styx, Tesla, Dokken, Winger and many more, and KEEL is proud to be a part of their catalog and roster.

| I thought the new Keel was supposed to come out quite awhile ago thru Chavis Records. Did they go belly up, or was that label simply not powerful enough to handle a comeback of such massive proportions? _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| They are a strange band. Had two gifted guitar players and a better than most vocalist. Went from solid lps in the beginning to lps with good songs making seldom appearances. I got that last "reunion" cd (Keel VI Back In Action) a few years back and I don't even think I played the entire thing before trading it off. I still throw the first three on the turntable when in that mood, the s/t doesn't get as much as them. _________________ | |

As I believe I mentioned previously in this thread, Keel's THE RIGHT TO ROCK was a fave of mine back in the day... but from that album on, each subsequent record got progressively worse... - James B. wrote:

I got that one too, it actually wasn't half bad. It was cool to hear their rendition of "Proud to be Loud," which Marc Ferrari wrote for Pantera's METAL MAGIC album back in the day. That reminds me, BACK IN ACTION came out in what, '98? '99? Doesn't that negate the press release claim that this new album is Keel's first new record in 20 years? _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I was just going to remind both of you that you have the right to rock!!!!! But, look at the infulence that Ron Keel has had on the world of hair metal, Kip Winger based his whole image on Keel! BTW - I also like The Right To Rock

| I throw them in with Black N' Blue. Both of these bands were/are grotesquely OVER-rated. Mediocre musicians and vocalists. Not the worst out there but far from being great. | |

Not much charisma? Tell that to the billions that packed stadiums to see awesome display of vocal wizardary from the one and only Ron Keel back in the 80's.

I have no doubt that Ron Keel has been in packed stadiums along with billions of other people, but I'm pretty sure he was always a member of the audience.

They (Keel) played at the Texas Jam in 86' someplace in the middle of the bill. Van Halen was headliner. Victory opned the show and was great. This was probably the biggest crowd they played in front of ? The Cotton Bowl was packed from start to finish. _________________
