I heard the music. It sucks in my opinion.
Ditto. It was a chore to sit through the 1 minute clip. Pass.

I won't miss Drover, but I thought Broderick might have potential, given some time. Although after hearing that Act of Defiance stuff, maybe not.

Dave posted this on Twitter...

So can we rule out Marty Friedman returning? Kinda dick-ish to make Marty audition for his old spot, isn't it?

I just finished re-reading Mustaine's autobiography and Dave says that every guitar player he's had in the band was picked because they were better than him, either style-wise or technical skills, because it forced him to up his game. I guess we'll see if that holds true for this new guy.

I'm sure that the new guy will be a better soloist than him. I love Dave as a musician but he's limited in what he can convey with his leads.
Try to imagine him still in METALLICA recording leads over "Fade to Black".

I much prefer Dave's leads to the other guitarists he's had in the band (with the exception of Chris Poland).

Broderick had to be the exception there, he wasn't better then Dave.

I think Friedman was so much better than Dave. Although I really like all of Dave's solos from the first three albums.

Friedman might be technically more proficient, but I dislike his style.

I love his style. Broderick is more technically proficient than he is but I'm not as moved by his leads.
I might like LaRoque more than any of them really I guess.

I kinda questioned that one myself. If I recall, he made specific mention of Poland's jazz-fusion style and Friedman's technical proficiency. Then went on with a general statement about hiring guys better than him.
I dunno. I don't play guitar, so maybe Broderick was a technically better player, even if he had the cold, robotic timing of a T-800 Terminator.

Ok, maybe technically, but there's more to playing like you said.

Broderick was the most technical of them all. And although I liked him OK, probably the most dull with the possible exception of Pitrelli.
They never had a bad lead player I think.

Not sure where they're getting this info, but Blabbermouth is reporting the following...
Quote :
MEGADETH is rumored to have hired drummer Chris Adler (LAMB OF GOD) and Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro (ANGRA) to play on the band's new album.
If true, Adler's involvement with MEGADETH would apparently be limited to studio work only, and he would not be expected to join the band on the road to promote the CD, which is scheduled to be recorded starting on March 17 in Nashville, Tennessee.

I think they need to get someone on a permanent basis, not just for an album.
And if I was them I wouldn't get someone from a band as big as LoG. They have their own careers.
Don't know anything about this guitarist but I don't remember any interesting leads from Angra in the past.

I don't know much about Angra, but Nothing to Say is one of my favorite songs ever. I absolutely LOVE the riff in the chorus! Love the solo too. Great guitar playing in this song!

(shrugs) I know nothin' about Lamb of God and all I know from Angra is their cover of "Painkiller" from Century Media's Judas Priest tribute album... which was a cavalcade of unintentional comedy thanks to the singer's thick-as-hell accent.
"Fasta dan a boo-let! Terrifyin' scream! Inraged an' fool of anga, he's harf man and harf ma-cheen! Like a metal monsta, breeding smoke an' fi-yah, Closing een wees wengeance soaring HIGH He ees da pain-kee-lah Dees ees da pain-kee-lah!"

I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't find permanent members (well, maybe the Angra guy), but I guess as long as the final product is good, I don't mind too much.

Until we hear otherwise, I'll keep commentating on what we've heard. I don't see the harm in that.
And noone's come forward to disprove it yet. I think Mustaine would have shot this down by now if it wasn't at least partially true. It's been a couple of days. You know Blabbermouth is clinging to his nuts. If he Tweets anything, even what he had for breakfast this morning, they'd be all over it.
