Was spinning The Best Of King's X today (now) and was reminded why I love this band so much...best band in the world.

Because back when SNL actually put on edgy or underground bands, King's X didn't exist. In the later years, King's X weren't mainstream enough.

Heck, maybe the band didn't want to be on that show? They seem to have some integrity. SNL is lame. Or maybe Lorne Michaels is a d*ck.

Maybe they were on SNL in some alternate universe that we are not aware of.

I figured being on Atlantic for Dogman & Ear Candy that management would have tried, at least...but if I recall, Ty said Atlantic did ZERO promotion for the albums once they hit the streets....

That always sucks when big rich companies, who have it in their power to market things properly - don't.

I remember hearing "We Were Born to Be Loved" played a few times as a commercial bumper by the CBS Orchestra on Letterman!

They still play that as bumper music - I remember hearing it recently on Letterman.

I could be wrong but I could swear King's X played on Dennis Miller's short lived late night talk show in the early 90s... I think that would've been around the time of the self-titled album if memory serves.

King's X rules! They normally play to crowds of under 1,000 in America. Isn't that sad?!

I'm not sure it will be anytime too soon. They just released one a little more than a year ago. Before that - it was three years prior.

I'm thinking the live DVD will precede a new album anyway...plus, they're not using Michael Wagener again...I think they'll be going back to the Metal Blade years...writing all the songs as a band and recording on their own...

I'm still loving XV. Listening to it right now actually.

No date yet...its supposedly in the working stages.

Whenever it is available I will definitely get it!!

I still need to pick up "XV".

I have "Ogre Tones" though - and really like it.

Have been playing Gretchen... in the car the last couple of days. it's amazing how listening to King's X can make the world seem like a better place Great stuff to unwind to!

I actually prefer Ogre Tones to XV...not by a wide margin, but there's just something about OT that really gets me...especially the song "Sooner Or Later"...

I bought the Live In London DVD and Ty's Balance album from Molken...

Does anyone else like these guys better live?
