| Love this band. I would have a hard time picking my favorite. Anything from Permanent Vacation back are all great. I too thought Rock in a Hard Place was a killer album.
The Joe Perry project put out 3 dang good albums too during this period.
Maybe these guys need to get loaded again to salvage their old age legacy.

| Have any of you guys who are complaining about the music since Permanent Vacation checked out Honkin' on Bobo? Every review you'll read talks about it being a return to form. Yes, they are doing covers of old blues songs, but they are doing them Aerosmith style hard rock. They did this in the early days with songs like Rattlesnake Shake, Walkin' the Dog, Milk Cow Blues, Big Ten Inch Record, etc. It's a great record. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Honestly I loved Aerosmith when I was younger, but felt I sort of grew out of them at one point, and hadnt listened to them in years until ULT's constant praise about them is what made me go back and revisit the albums. "Rocks" and "Rock In A Hard Place" are without a doubt my two favorites, but theres some great songs on everything up to "Done With Mirrors" | |

| I have actually liked every Aerosmith album with the expection of " Just Push Play", and I just feel as the years have gone, I feel the 1973-1985 era is the best, beginning with "Permante Vacat" they have used outside song writers to help them go in a more commerical direction, still a great band, but I felt that their 70's output is some best hard rock/metal of that era. Even there not so critically loved albums such as "Draw the Line" and " Night in the Ruts' was better than bands such as Stones, Kiss, and Alice had released during that same time period. | |

| Listening to a greatest hits package O, Yea! which combines their Columbia and Geefen years on 2 cd comp. It is interesting to hear their early stuff back to back with their more commerical years. Listening to those early hits it makes me wonder why they felt the need for outside songwriters, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry where already a killer songwriting team on their own. | |

| Far from one of my favorite bands, but I like Aerosmith. Only have the "Big Ones" CD because I really don't feel like spending money on all their releases. | |

| In the lastest trend of rock stars penning their own memoirs here's the lastest one: Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler's much-anticipated autobiography, "Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?", is scheduled for release on October 27th, 2009. The book traces Tyler's youth in the Bronx, his early music career and influences, his legendary partnership with Joe Perry, the meteoric rise, fall, and rise of Aerosmith over the last three decades, their music, his epic romantic life, his relationship with his four children (including actress Liv Tyler and actress and author Mia Tyler) life on the road and in the spotlight, the economics of the rock star business — and all the sex, drugs, and rock and roll a reader could ask for. Commented Tyler: "This is not just my take — this is the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler straight from the horse's lips." Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, reportedly paid more than $2 million for the rights to publish Tyler's autobiography. Ecco publisher Daniel Halperin, a self-described longtime Aerosmith fan, edited the book. Tyler and his fellow band members previously came out with a memoir titled "Walk This Way: The Autobiography of Aerosmith" in 2003. With twenty-one Billboard Top 40 hits, including "Walk This Way," "Angel," "Dream On," and "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)," Aerosmith has sold 150 million albums worldwide. The band, which has sold 66 million albums in the United States alone, holds the record for most gold and multi-platinum albums by an American group. source: blabbermouth.net | |

Freddy how would he remember any of them? He was more bombed than England during the blitzkrieg.

So was David Lee Roth, but it didn't stop him from writing an autobiography, and it was a great read (even if it did feel like you were sitting next to a crazy guy on a bus listening to him talk to thin air every once in a while)! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I feel Aerosmith has been rather weak for quite a while. I don't really like anything put out by them since before Permanent Vacation.I did see them live for the first time a few years ago with KISS and they were great though.Even the more recent tunes sounded good in a live setting. | |

I loved that book and a perfect description of DLR's writing style, love the guy but I would lose my mind if I had listen to Mr. Roth talk all day. Keith Richards is also in the writting his own memoir, that should be interesting.
