An immediately infectious song. Starblind. Maiden worship for sure. The singer is good. Must be British. Nice melodies all over. The guitars do a lot of interesting fills, even if the tone is lacking attack. A well-crafted song. It makes you pay attention, to think. The rhythm section is a little stock, but there's a small gallopy thing happening at the end.

A good song. Very enjoyable. I'd catch these guys live if this is an indication of the quality of music they put out. It doesn't make you headbang - it's too pleasant for that. But it makes you focus.

Don't need to review this (unless you want to) but here is a better example rhythm wise-of their Maiden influence:

The entire album is actually awesome. I got it from No Remorse Records in Greece a few months back. Highly recommended.

There are 20 bands listed on M-A with the name Avatar. This is the one from Sweden.

This band only recorded two songs found on the compilation Power From The Sky (a collection of artists from Christian Liljegren's [Narnia] old Rivel Records). Shame because they were pretty damn good.

So, Avatar. Mellow major scale intro, with a video of a slow-motion dog. German shepherd or something. I don't know dogs. Then it's a slow-motion man. Slow motion everything. Everything is super slow motion. I don't like the video.

Guitar sound is dry, but the riff is catchy. And heavy. Well arranged music. Singer switches between shrieks/growls and whiny. Kind of emo. I don't like the singer.

Tempo stays slow/mid. The sound is pretty dull to me. Rhythm doesn't have much "voice" or life.

It wasn't my kind of song. And the super slow motion video probably didn't help. Sorry.

Now here we have melodies and neatly crafted vocal lines. It's like a pop song arranged to be heavy metal. "Hearts. Burning. Worlds. Turning." Super catchy. The singer has incredible ability. Wonderful stuff.

Music is fast and I like it, but the double bass and the euro-power elements are a little too strong to make it unique or especially attractive.

Everything is done right, but it's maybe quite not what I need right now. Currently I've had this thrash/power/speed hybrid playlists on my commutes. This seems a little tame.

But a nice song nonetheless. I'll keep the name New Horizon in mind. These guys seem total pros, making perfectly crafted power/pop metal. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Good shit, thank you.

If the first photo in the video is of the band members then they seem to have the appropriate street cred. The music starts and it's oddly retro. Not only like the 80's, but specifically like NWOBHM mixed with 70's Heep/Blue Öyster Cult. Like a lost Angel Witch demo. A harder Praying Mantis. A nice sense of melody. The singer is good. His English is excellent, so no worries there. I like it. I like it a lot. The drums are awesome. It has that aesthetic that I like about the lo-fi turn of the decade 70's/80's productions. Made me air drum.

Guitars don't do anything exceptional, but it's a really nice tune. This is why I come here. For a heavy metal band, they're on the softer side, but it's definitely interesting.

If they are indeed Turkish, it's probably impossible to come across another AKDABA track again anywhere else, and their CD's must be rare, so maybe this is it for me and Turkish heavy metal, but it was at least nice to make the acquaintance. Cool.

Music has rapid riffing, and some keyboards too. Singer sounds awesome. Like Jeff Scott Soto maybe. Tremendously talented. And has a nice timbre. DallasBlack always finds the best singers.

He steals the show here. Yngwie and Axel Rudi Pell should be trying to get this guy's number. I don't know music theory or anything, but he's like a baritone or something, in a world that's predominantly tenor. He has that lower range that's natural to his voice.

The song has a cool vibe. Bass lines and keys add a special enjoyable unique sound here. And there's a break with just bass and keys. It's not just smashing and bashing heavy metal through and through.

Guitars could use more bite and a more aggressive tone, but maybe it's just me. The way it is now, they leave space for the singer to shine. And he's the highlight anyway. No complaints from me. This maybe requires a certain mood to come back to, but it's a cool song. It's certainly not what I've been listening to lately this week. The last CD I played tonight as a warmup before clicking on this thread was Anvil - Juggernaut of Justice. This song here is like the anti-Anvil.

Sorry, it's Ayenna-Spiritual Home. It was only one of two songs they ever recorded, sadly they disappeared. Funny enough, I posted a topic on the subject of a band with only a few songs that disappeared several years ago. One of the members of the band even hopped on HoM to explain what happened. I don't remember the thread or what he said sadly. It's somewhere around here.

It's Leviathan. I actually do know this song. I don't have all Marshall Law on CD, but I have a compilation called Power Crazy and this song is on it. It was NOT among my top favourites off the disc. But it's a damn cool song now that I listen to it.

Main riff slays. This band always had incredible riffs. It's heavy. The playing is so crisp and very much to the point. Nothing superfluous or dull on a Marshall Law song.

Man, these guys are good. It's like NWOBHM, but amped up. Heavy as hell, and the singer (Andy Pyke) has the right voice and the right approach and the ability to pull off exactly what is needed. Great track. Should be a classic. Nice one, Gilbert.
