Today I watched some of the ACC tournament.

I'm off all next week so I can watch March Madness. Is anyone going to knock off Kentucky?

I was watching that game but it's a massa-cree. I switched over to Iowa St. vs Texas.
EDIT: Now THAT was a game!!! Iowa St. did not lead for a single second until it was tied up with 5 seconds left when they sank a last second jumper. 69-67 Iowa St.
THIS is why I love college basketball.

Looper - A. Other than the surprisingly generic shoot em up sequences, this is a damned perfect movie. So far director Rian Johnson is two for two in my book--Brick happens to be one of my favorite films.

I really enjoyed Looper, but it has a major plot hole.

ABCs of Death 2
I watched A thru F today. A, B and C are pretty good, D makes no sense. E is amusing and I hated F (foreign language with no subtitles? WTF? Yeah you can get the basic gist of it but still...)

"Hellboy" (2004)
Ron Perlman is hilariously dry as the super powered, government-sponsored monster hunting demon in Guillermo del Toro's fast-paced, visually impressive action flick based on the cult comic book series.

I like both Hellboy movies but I like the second one more because there are more weird monsters. But regardless, this is one of the only comic book movie franchises I follow. Never read the comics upon which they are based but I love the films.

I much prefer the first Hellboy. That one is darker and more Lovecraftian in nature which suits my tastes very well. The second one verged too far into straight up fantasy for me, still an okay film but I'm a horror guy, not a fantasy film guy.

FF's post prompted me to see if a third Hellboy was in the works and I found this interesting tidbit:
Quote :
In mid 2012, Ron Perlman once again endured the 4-hour makeup routine required to transform him into Hellboy - not for a sequel or other acting job but to fulfill the Make-A-Wish request of a six-year-old boy named Zachary who has leukemia. Creature effects house Spectral Motion, who had worked on the two previous Hellboy films, applied Perlman's Hellboy makeup (and later, also made up Zachary as Hellboy as well), so that Zachary could spend the day hanging out with his favorite superhero. Guillermo del Toro was so touched by this event that it inspired him to start production on Hellboy 3.

I never read the Hellboy comics either... he came along just as I was getting out of comic collecting. I remember seeing ads for his first issue in some other books but that's about all.
It's been awhile since I saw "Hellboy II" but if memory serves I liked it better than the first flick, too... which is rare for a sequel, at least for me...haha. I want to revisit "II" now.
