Stargate SG-1 Finished the last season:
I think next to the Tin Man scene (as in my sig pic), my favorite Teal'c moment was when he found himself at the Vagina Monologues. His expressions of utter embarrassment were priceless. Though him in that Tin Man get up can't quite be outdone.

I liked how he thought he was going to "The Virginia Monologues".
At any rate, I didn't enjoy the last several seasons with the Ore-I (or however they spell it) as much as when they were fighting the Go'uld (or however they spell that).
Now go watch Babylon 5.

I can relate, however, I had a thing for Vala. Not only was she freakin' hot, she was a hilarious character. "Yes! Let's make BABIES!!!"

I thought Vala looked like the witch in The Holy Grail. Her character was pretty interesting though.

I Saw The Devil
Those wacky Asians are at it again. Another "revenge" flick that's so intense that you really aren't sure who the titular "devil" is. And this one reminds me of "A Serbian Film" in that there's a lot of violence in the film but the whole thing is just so well-shot.

"The Interview" (2014)
Finally...the controversial comedy that caused an international incident and brought the wrath of hackers down upon Sony Pictures!! Was it worth all the fuss? Ehhh...probably not.
When a clueless American talk show host and his dorky producer snag an exclusive interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, the CIA drafts them into attempting an assassination. Mayhem, naturally, ensues. Seth Rogen is funny, so is the guy who plays Kim Jong Un, but James Franco gets reeeaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllly annoying after a while.
A decent watch but nothing I'll ever sit thru again.

Double-feature with the young'ins on a snowy Saturdayafternoon:
"Underdog" (2007)
Disney's live-action take on the classic '60s super-pooch cartoon is silly fun for kids and relatively painless for their parents.
"Rodan" (1956)
Toho Studios followed up "Godzilla" with this flick about a pair of prehistoric pterodactyls re-awakened by atomic testing. Enjoyably goofy rubber-monster nonsense. Fun fact: this was Toho's first "kaiju" movie to be filmed in color.

Another example of the crappy dubbing taking over. First we had "Gojira" become forever known as "Godzilla" and then "Radon" became "Rodan".
"The Japanese name "Radon" is a contraction of "pteranodon"). Radon is usually referred to as "Rodan" for English speaking markets; however, in Toho's English dub for Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, the character is completely referenced as Radon the whole time."
And in case you're curious:
Quote :
The name "Mothra" is the suffixation of "-ra" to the English word "moth"; since the Japanese language does not have dental fricatives, it is approximated "Mosura" in Japanese. The “ra” suffix follows the precedent set by “Gojira”, which in turn is derived from kujira (鯨(クジラ), the Japanese word for “whale,” to indicate the character’s enormous size.
