That's right. I've yet to see Phenomena.
Suspiria was an odd movie because that opening scene was so gut wrenching and intense that the rest of the film felt so mellow haha. Gotta love Argento though. Opera was my favorite.

Oz -Season 1
Started watching this again as I have the whole thing on DVD but good grief it's dark! I think only Nip/Tuck comes close to this as a main line TV show that leaves you feeling this uneasy and pessimistic about the nature of man.

I'm a fan of Nihilism Theory and everyone is telling me to watch this as it's right up my alley.

Worse than Nip/Tuck!? Yeah, I don't think I need to witness this one.

Dodgers vs Cardinals
Cards won again 4-2 today. We're going to get creamed tomorrow though; Kershaw starts against rookie Carlos Martinez.

And if the Cards pull off the sweep it will be a miracle of epic proportions. Kershaw is starting for the Dodgers and rookie Carlos Martinez is starting for the STL. Martinez has the stuff to be a great pitcher eventually but right now his control is not what it should be. I see LA winning in a cakewalk tonight.
Today while cleaning the house I had MLB Network and their MLB Tonight show on. I love this channel! I kept tabs on Pittsburgh/CO, NY/Reds, Brewers/Nats, Toronto/Texas and a host of other games. They do live cut-ins all around the league all afternoon. I think one of the things that makes it so interesting is that the live feeds are from the local broadcasts so you get to hear what other teams' announcers sound like. Fun stuff.

"42" (2013) Well made bio-pic about Jackie Robinson's tumultuous first season in the major leagues as he joins the Brooklyn Dodgers and breaks baseball's color barrier. I love a good baseball movie and this is a great one.

"Open Season 2" (2008) The dim witted deer and his grizzly bear pal are back for more slapsticky adventure in this direct to video sequel set around a pet resort. Disposable family fun with a definite "Looney Tunes" inspired vibe.

American Hustle - started off slow, but picked up and was a good flick. The dual "voice overs" in the beginning were annoying.....

"Pacific Rim" (2013) Guillermo del Toro's giant robots vs. Giant Monsters epic is tons of empty headed, stuff-blowin'-up fun. If I were ten years old this movie would be like porn for me...haha

Yea, it was surprisingly kickass. Most of the reviews I'd read were pretty bad so my expectations were pretty low.

Without Warning -- here's an interesting little gem for War of the Worlds and mockumentary fans. Aired on Halloween night on 1994, Without Warning begins as what seems to be a serial killer made-for-TV flick and is sharply interrupted by a news bulletin for the rest of the remaining time detailing an "ongoing" alien invasion. Like the broadcast it was inspired by, apparently a good number of folks thought this was genuine and flooded the network with calls (though you would've had to be extremely naive to think this, especially considering only ONE network was carrying the story). I really enjoyed this as it was pretty convincing for the most part with authentic broadcast news motifs and the use of some real reporters (actors as well, however). Sometimes the acting would get borderline hammy but for the most part this feels like the real deal. The final scene is effective and chilling, and honestly stayed with me for the night. Available in full on youtube below.
I gotta say, I love end of the world movies, and it seems like the TV ones (ie Day After) were the best.

I hated it. Way too much time spent on the stupid robots and no real clear shots of the Kaiju.
