I can't even take most of the reviews on Metal Archives seriously at all. The way the purists talk so much seems almost cult-like.
Worst of all, it seems like most of their highly rated/low rated reviews are written mostly for spite. Especially if the album's average score is really high or low.

I will add:
Helix - It's a Business Doing Pleasure
Def Leppard - Adrenalize - Bar none, hands down, no compromise, my favorite album by these guys. Not Metal by any stretch just a solid hook-laden hard rock album.

Most people seem to not like Set The World On Fire much compared to the rest of Annihilator's catalog, and a lot of fans find Obsessed By Cruelty to be Sodom's weakest effort(mainly due to the poor production).
Compared to what? Annihilator's first 3 releases are pretty much the only worthwhile albums from the band, aside from a few good songs scattered across their discography.
And, oh man... If one thing ticks me off, it's people who are turned off because an album doesn't feature a crystal-clear production. Maybe they're perusing the wrong genre of music.
Well I strongly disagree with you there, lots of people like Annihilator's later releases such as Carnival Diablos(which I consider their best album), Waking The Fury, Criteria For A Black Widow, Schizo Deluxe etc.
People are willing to tolerate bad production to a point, but sometimes it's so bad that it completely overwhelms everything else(I.E. St. Anger, the Queen box set) and while I personally don't mind it on OBC, I can fully understand people not liking Sodom's debut, production issues aside lots of people feel that the songs simply aren't up to par with material from albums like Code Red and Agent Orange.
Also agree with Adrenalize and It's A Business Doing Pleasure.

Kreator-Endorama. Ok, so it's not a brutal thrash assault, it's still a very good metal album. Yet, i've seen people claiming it sounds like glam metal. Last i checked, bands like Poison werent writing songs like "Soul Eraser".

Took me a few years to dig this one. Partially because it was the first post-Paul album and it you could feel it. Also, because, it was 1993... I can officially say now that I enjoy it as musch as any Helix album [or, for that matter, anything that Vollmer has ever done].

That is a Helix album in-name-only, it was originally supposed to be a Volmer solo effort, but the record company insisted on putting the Helix name on it(kind of like what happened with Black Sabbath-Seventh Star)

The same thing was the case with Manilla Road - The Circus Maximus and Demolition Hammer - Time Bomb. Both bands had split up by the time these albums were released, and were by new bands with former members, but the record label would only release them under the condition they release the albums under the old band names.

I won't argue. But, to me, Vollmer IS Helix. Read "Give Me an R" to see where the passion has lied in that band since 1975. Plus, didn't one or two of the musicians on that album become permanent members of Helix until Doc n Fritz came back? My memory sucks, so I may be way off on that.

Love is for Suckers gets my vote too. My favorite Twisted record. Pretty much, though, any time any band steers in a more pop metal direction, I am all over it.
One album I see mentioned a lot is Born Again. I feel like that one no longer qualifies as an album most people hate. It's picked up so much steam in the 21st century, kind of like Crue '94 (as I mentioned in another thread), but unlike that Corabi Crue album, Born Again completely deserves the adoration.
But also, people don't like DaDa? The early 80s Alice records are brilliant...so I guess I just assume everyone enjoys them as much as I do. Heh.

The Yes thread made me think of this, 'Tales From Topographic Oceans' a lot of times is panned almost as bad as stuff like 'Big Generator' but it's always been one of my favorite 2 or 3 Yes albums. I think it's made somewhat of a popularity comeback also.
