What albums do you like that most others don't ?

Thought I'd take a twist on the other thread,

     Not saying these are the best by these groups ,but I enjoy all of them. But then again these are some of my favorite bands, and I am easy to please.

Inside Out is one of Fates Warning's best albums, I think. Most people think pretty differently.

A lot of people dislike In the Wake of Poseidon by King Crimson, but I like it more than In the Court.

My Fruit Psychobells... A Seed Combustible is just as great as every other maudlin of the Well album.

Power Windows is one of my favorite Rush albums.

Heritage is the album that got me into Opeth.

I've always loved Set the World on Fire by Annihilator.

The Silent Parade is a great Doors album.

That's all I've got off the top of my head.

Good call on Rush's Power Windows. One of my favorites by them.

Good call on The Soft Parade, Wurthless.

THANK YOU - 'My Fruit' is amazing! Now we just have to get people to listen to maudlin of the Well in the first place.   


Couple I can think of off the top of my head..


Pink Floyd - Momentary Lapse of Reason..the perennial whipping boy in the discography....but I heard this in pitch black when I was about 11, knowing absolutely nothing about PF or why I should listen to something or not, and I was hooked from 'Signs of Life' onward.... yeah, there's some pop in there in the production, in the drums... but this is really such a rich record.

Blind Guardian - A Twist In The Myth.... Everyone else can wait for another Tolkien collection, I'll rock out to this..this was really something they needed to do, it's less produced than the last couple, it's got fresh sounds....great stuff.

Rush from the 80s.

Judas Priest: Turbo

Recent Blind Guardian

Slayer: Diabolos in Musica

Megadeth: Cryptic Writings

Rush - Power Windows
Anthrax - The Sound Of White Noise

Get rid of The Elder and I agree with the rest.

To second several of you, Power Windows is tied with Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures as my favorite Rush album.

I just LOVE how they went crazy with the synths on this album! There is always something going on and you really can't catch it unless you're listening to it with headphones.


On a side note, the synth programmer/player used to be the keyboard player for The Strawbs.

I actually love that whole period of Rush. I like everything they've done to some degree, but Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, and Hold Your Fire are among my favorites.

I second those who have said Sound of White Noise. Not my favorite Anthrax, but quite good, nevertheless. I particularly like "Hy Pro Glo" and "Invisible."

Why do I keep hearing that Frolic in the Park was an unpopular album? I thought it was even better than Ultra-Violence. Has my opinion been in the minority all these years?

I've always liked Frolic and Act III.They are my favorite two Death Angel albums.

The Tony Martin Sabbath albums. Divine Intervention - Slayer. And the AC/DC albums Fly On The Wall and Blow Up Your Video.

Most albums I love fit the discription.
