I like V8....Pumking not so much. Yeah I've tried it 4 years in a row now and it's always too "vegetable-ly". The only thing I find Pumking good for is mixing with another so-called pumpkin beer that's too "cinnamon-y"[/quote That's too much work...I'd rather just drink something that's good without having to doctor it up.

| Well I don't buy Pumking just for that but it's how I used it up once I bought it. No more; I give up on it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Currently drinking a limited Schlafly release called "Tasmanian IPA".
It's brewed with all Austraiian hops which the label says imparts a "citrusy flavor". it's definitely not like any other IPA I've tried.
A year ago I not only would never have picked this up but if someone had given me one I'd have tasted it and spit it out. My tastes in beer have really changed. I'm enjoying this one. Still can't drink a regular IPA though; gotta have a "twist" to it. Double, Triple, Black IPA? I'm in! _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

What's the name of the IPA? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Currently drinking the 2015 Schlafly's Christmas Ale. They've changed the label, losing the Christmas tree in favor of a more subtle poinsettia. I almost missed it in the grocery store because I was looking for the "iconic" Christmas tree on the packaging. Thankfully they didn't change the recipe because this is just as good as it always is. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Had this one a while back: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/3/154121/ A damn fine beer if I may say so. Recently picked up these: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/262/188802/ and http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/27403/108476/ That last one I wasn't going to get because of the $17 price tag. Then my sister told me that that's the kind of beer you try at least once so... Hope it turns out to be good. From what I heard, it is. | |

| That first one sounds great to me DB.
I just bought a sixer of what apparently will be a regular seasonal from O'Fallon Brewery. King Louie Toffee Stout. It's a stout made with Bissenger's chocolate (a local chocolatier). This was great last year and I thought it was a one-off but apparently they sold enough of it to release it around this time every year. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Had this one a while back and I'm just now having it: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/31874/133015/ Not sure what's so pumpkin about this. Tastes like just about any other porter I've had. Not a drain pour at all but just not very pumpkin-y. | |

| I can't believe I found Corsendonk Christmas Ale at the grocery store today. And for 7.99 for a bomber? I only got one but I may go back to get more.
It's a dark, Belgian ale with spices. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/41/140/ _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

That last one I wasn't going to get because of the $17 price tag. Then my sister told me that that's the kind of beer you try at least once so... Hope it turns out to be good. From what I heard, it is. I think this marks the last of my adventures in beer tasting. Not only because I have no job and my unemployment is in question, but because every time I take a chance on a beer it becomes a drain pourer. Neither of these were particularly good. The former went well with chocolate brownies but by itself it wasn't too good. The latter was in it's heart a decent Belgian and went well with buffalo wings, but by itself it was too sour for me to enjoy most of it. I was able to drink about half of it, but half a bottle is CERTAINLY not worth $17. Maybe if they were available in smaller bottles I could get them on occasion (actually, maybe not the latter with the price and all), but these are limited editions and large bottles are the only available. I think I'll stick with Unibroues and the occasional Samuel Smith Chocolate Stout.

| Tried a new one from a brewery I've never heard of before.
"Enlightenment" from Twisted Manzanitas Brewery. It's a stout brewed with chocolate and mint. Good stuff especially the finish which reminds me of an Andes chocolate mint. This is a Cali brewery so you people on the West coast can probably find this one more easily than I can. The beer store closest to me recently expanded their shelving so they can display more beers and I'm finding new entries from breweries I've never heard of before every time I visit. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I just read that a bottle of Bud Light is going for $13 at the Superbowl!
Are you kidding me? I don't drink this swill when someone has it for free. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Are you kidding me? I don't drink this swill when someone has it for free. For that you can get a four pack of Maudite or a large bottle of several other superior beers. However, you and I aren't your average American beer drinkers.

However, you and I aren't your average American beer drinkers. Ah, but that is changing. That's why AB is pushing their "We're macro" crap. America is finally waking up to the fact that REAL beer doesn't taste like the mass-produced swill they've been drinking for years. I read an article somewhere that said the burgeoning craft brew market has already taken something like a 4% bite out of AB's share. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Had my usual yesterday and also tried one of these:
http://us.thebar.com/img/bottle-shots/all/img-the-bar-collection_636297_guinness-extra-stout.png
Most of the stouts I've tried ended up being too strong for me. One time I decided to try a Guinness and it turned out to be too weak so I decided to try this one. It was actually just right.
Though the best stout for my taste still has to be Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout.

Devil’s Teeth W/ Coffee. THIS is my kind of beer! Oh wow! Beer Advocate describes that as an old ale/imperial ale hybrid. My two favorite styles of beer! I bet I'd love that. One reviewer says: - Quote :
- Bought a bomber then immediately bought two more the next time I saw it. The fact that it is a stout/strong ale blend gives it a unique character that isn't found in your typical coffee stout. It has a sweetness to it similar to a milk stout and a ton of coffee. An excellent beer.

Their oatmeal stout is my favorite in that category as well. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
