Same here, I'm digging it but I need a few more spins to really sink in and see if the novelty wears off like the last Iron Maiden release, once my fanaticism subsided.

Most of these bands I've never heard of so I went through your list one by one tonight. Damn. All great thrash, and very original at that. But ladies and gentlemen, do we have a winner:
Lead man should rough his image up a bit; he looks like Taylor Lautner's stand-in. But seriously, this is CRAZY shit. I want this.
Essence is flat out one of the best bands in the new wave of thrash metal. Both of their albums are really good! I'll see the video you posted and raise you:

I've only just recently found out about Revocation. My oldest son actually suggested them to me!

Wow. I'm just listening to the newest Satan. I almost missed it, cos my budget is limited and Spotify doesn't have it. But now I found it on Google Music. And wow... it easily smokes any other Heavy Metal release so far. Awesome!

Completely forgot about this one; it deserves more attention for sure. I had listened to it a few times and fell in love. I had been streaming it; need to purchase.

Joan Jett's latest is making a strong case for this year's favorite. Nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking - just Joan Jett as I love her records to be. Does seem that she opens up more personally on a lot of the lyrics - which I really like too.

She has never done a bad record or anything, but Unvarnished really is up there with her absolute best.

I like this list. So far, I've only purchased 12 CDs released this year, but four of them are on this list. The new Megadeth and Stryper are currently my favorite CDs released this year. But this thread has got me curious about the new Reckless Love (awesome cover art btw) and the new Joan Jett.
