| I may be the odd man out here but I enjoy The Blackest Crow. It has a great macabre menace to it. IMO the banjo works as well as the slide. As for the title track, for me that's the worst. The song has zero dynamic changeups to it. It's just boring. Everything else is pretty cool. I mean, yeah, I miss his higher range and all the technical thrash of RIP and before, but I've learned to really enjoy this second generation of Megadeth. | |

| I sampled the album on Spotify. What I heard was pretty good, not something I would buy but it's clearly not the trainwreck that some of the reviews have indicated.
P.S. - I like Rice Krispies.

| Well, I listened to it on Spotify and my expectations were somewhere south of low. I was fully prepared to savage this album so bear that in mind while reading further. The Bad: Super Collider - just an awful song and a horrible choice for a single Forget To Remember - crap. Terrible, blatant attempt at a hit single. The average: Cold Sweat - I love the original, but this seems pointlessly tacked on the end of the album. Acceptable cover, but should have been a bonus track in Japan. The good: The rest of the album, shockingly enough! Really solid album that completely blows Thirteen out of the water. For me it slots in well with the post-reformation Megadeth albums. I even found the banjo/slide guitar of The Blackest Crow to be enjoyable. I'll head out and grab the Best Buy version on Saturday. | |

I would have agreed with you on "Super Collider" a few days ago, but after repeated listens...I like it. I woke up with the song stuck in my head this morning! Haha. I've enjoyed "Forget to Remember" from the get-go, though. Great tune. Anyway, I wonder how this one will hold up. I wonder if our low expectations are making it sound better. I'd like to think it would have gotten stale at this point, given how many times I've listened to it, so maybe not.

| All I know is they better not be sold out of the deluxe edition. Still showing as being in-stock but who knows. Learned my lesson with the last ZZ Top record. - Quote :

I'm actually starting to think my expectations are getting too high. It took me till now to finally get Thirteen and I completely love that record. So all the talk of this one being better has caused the anticipation to rise. A month ago I was completely "whatever - buy it if I find it cheap", now I'm making a special trip just to hit up a Best Buy.

| I've been listening to this for a few days. So far I like it more than Thirteen. Possibly more than Endgame. However I still feel this is a below average release. The production is way too thin and mechanical. Some of the songs sound half finished or not fleshed out enough. The vocals and lyrics are lazy.
Honestly I don't think Dave really has any passion left for this. He poops out a record every 2 years and I think it's because he thinks he needs to. Each tour they play one or two songs off the latest record and then they seem to play the same boring "greatest hits" set they've been playing for the last decade. Each record since The System has Failed gets ignored after it's touring cycle.
First, Dave needs to take a break I think. He also needs to get a producer that doesn't kiss his ass and tells him when he has a bad idea or hes half assing it.
As much as I hate it when bands take 4 to 5 years to release records, I think it might do Megadeth some good.

Forget To Remember is sounding better to me, but Super Collider still isn't sounding good. I think this album sounds much more inspired than Thirteen, and is loaded with memorable hooks. "Dancing In The Rain" is a really, really good song. I am very glad that I was wrong about this release.

| I think the new album is OK. I'm feeling like a 75-80% It's not really my type of style. I don't know what they were smoking when Dave or was it David said that it gave him a KIMB vibe. I think this album has to grow on me more though. | |

| Just got the album. I found the title track, drumming and general production to be a bit subpar and Dave's voice is off tune at times. But the postives for me were, that this album is a lot more creative than Thirteen. I liked the banjo intro/interludes on The Blackest Crow. Also, a good cover of Cold Sweat to close out the album. | |
