| Sounds awesome. No complaints whatsoever. Some bands just still have it.
I loved Formation of Damnation and it seems like the sound remains the same.
I have to get the CD/DVD version.

| This is not very impressive.
The solo doesn't really fit and you can't even really tell it's Hoglan on drums.
A far cry from the amazing stuff on their debut.
I don't hear any above average riffs on this one.

| I think the solo works fine, it's a variation on the pre-chorus melody so it definitely fits the song.
It sounds like Testament, I like it.

| Nice, don't expect them to have the same hunger as the first couple albums but Testament never dissapoints. | |

| loving the fast pace, gruff vox, & blast beats. already better than anything off Formations (which was still a decent album). _________________ | |

| The blast beat is probably the coolest part.
I mean, come on, this intro part is totally generic and dull.
I like a lot of recent thrash albums. Stuff from WARBRINGER, EXPULSION, LICH KING, WARPATH, PRONG, EXODUS, SLAYER, IMMACULATE, etc. I just don't see how this is better than what these other bands are doing now. This even sounds worse than "Death Magnetic".

No, I definitely still enjoy it, I just have to be in the right mood for it. |

| I don't know, I think the song kicks ass!
The intro isn't dull. It's a nice build-up to the ass kicking that begins :35 seconds into the song. What's so dull about it?
Like someone said, it sounds like Testament. I like it. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

This even sounds worse than "Death Magnetic". Why does it have to be better? Why does everything have to be original? Why can't it just be enjoyable? Why isn't that enough? Here's a serious comment, not an insult: Why don't you hold your own music to the same standards? Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike your music at all, but it surely isn't ground-breaking. You're traveling the same well-worn path that countless other bands traveled. Why does that have to matter so much? Why can't it just be good music. If everyone judged your music by the same criteria you judge music, no one would like your band. Do you think your band is doing things other bands haven't done, then? Now again, I'm not picking a fight, just trying to have a serious discussion.

Because none of us has an infinite amount of time to listen to music and we pick some songs over others. - Quote :

It doesn't. Didn't say it did. But someone has to be. - Quote :

It can be (but IMHO this is not). I wasn't criticizing this song for not being original. I'm not expecting them to create a new genre out of thin air or anything. I think this song sounds like just a bunch of stock parts put together that could've been written by most anyone. Especially the guitar riffs. On other boards, there is a lot of TESTAMENT hate. I consider myself a big fan really. I thought "Henchmen Ride" was full of great riffs and awesome drumming. I thought "The Gathering" album (although personally I think it would've been enhanced by some well-placed solos) was full of great riffs and drumming. - Quote :

I try to. I think I have gotten better as time has gone on and I cringe at some of the stuff we have done before. Maybe I'll cringe at our stuff now in 5 years but it sounds really good to me at the moment. - Quote :

I'm not criticizing this song for not being ground-breaking (you forget, I like GHOST ). I'm criticizing it for not being well-written or exciting. This sounds totally phoned-in to me. For example, I like the song "Chainbreaker" by PRIMAL FEAR. Can't stand the rest of their stuff, and this song is a total JUDAS PRIEST rip-off, but I think it is very well-done and has a lot of energy. I love EXIVIOUS's first demo even though the style of it was totally copied from CYNIC because it is so well-done. - Quote :

I think we have our influences that aren't too tough to discern, but I listen to a lot of metal and I've never heard an album quite like the one we're recording now. There are definitely lots of old school influences on it but not done in this way. I am trying some different things this time around and the new songs I am writing (that aren't going to be done in time for this disc) are moving further in that direction. - Quote :

No problem at all. | |

| What a ripper! Pure Testament from start to finish. It's kind of a grower, if you're not diggin' it right now, keep spinning it. I really dig the production, too. Polished with a touch of grit. | |

| I really like the song. I think it sounds better than anything off Formation which I thought was just ok. Is it stuff like they did in their younger years? No,but who expects a band to not change over the years. | |
